Re: World Cup Widget - Pelota from Signove funlabs

Yesterday i watched Germany vs. Australia and i only got two or three reminds, but there where 4 goals. I thought maybe they shot those goals to fast, so i got only one notifcation for 2 goals?
But right now the widget shows Netherlands vs. Denmark 1:0 and i only know that since i unlocked the screen. No vibration, no flashing LED.
Application manager says everything is up to date.
Writing this lines i just got a notification for the 2:0. Seems it does not work any time. Any ideas?

Re: World Cup Widget - Pelota from Signove funlabs

Ive installed via a deb file provided on page 28, I had to install qt4-maemo-homescreen-widget and wget, then I could install it, but to do that I had to remove irreco.

Ive now got it installed, update manager is telling me there is an update for pelota, but when I try I get 'Unable to install update', I also cannot install irreco anymore either.

Any ideas?

Just got the wrong score for the JapanxCameroon game. Something went wrong in our game score server. Problem fixed now. :)

Hello
My N900 suddenly startet to vibrate 5 times in my pocket.
I had a look at it but there were no notifications, no missed calls, no SMS no e-mails and no alarms. The led (white) was blinking nervously about 30 seconds then it stopped.

What was that?

PR1.2
enhanced kernel v37 (ideal 1Ghz)
enhanced kernel settings
autodisconnect (notifications disabled)
wifieye
healthcheck
conky
batteryeye
sygic mobile maps
foreca weather widget
kmplayer
pelota (hm...)

Edit:
Maybe it's pelota? Has anyone experience with that?

Edit2:
Yes, it's pelota.

Pelota is a very nice App, thank you :)
Whats missing is only the possibility to configure it a bit. To turn of the vibration for example. It is vibrating so loud that i almost cant hear the nice goal sound i installed (the famous Toooooooor, Toooooooor Tooooooooooor from 1954, hehe)

I think the developper did a great job with this widget. It isn't very fancy but it does the job well even with a couple of minutes delay. Just wondering are the scores updated manualy or does he use some sort of feed from a website?
Thumbs up for Signove Funlabs!!!

To the Pelota developers: Please can we have a wav that plays when a goal is scored?

A demented commentator shouting "Goaaaaallllllllll" would be absolutely fab.

This app is proving very poular in my office, people have asked me to turn up my alert sound!! Great work and good to see the bugs being sorted and the community helping sort other issues too :)

A goal sound or even a good crowd cheer would be a great addition though.

Yes, a crowd roar would be a good one as well :)

Or perhaps a blast of the Vuvuzela? (NO DEFINITELY NOT)

Strike that thought from your memory banks right now!

Would be nice to be able to tap the widget to get an update of exactly who scored the goals and when.

Would be nice if the app could remember the last stats instead of "offline"

It's amazing how consistently late mine is... 7 minutes after kickoff, it now shows
NZL 0-0 SVK

I wish so, this will be very good , because when you are offline you can't know any result.

Attached you find the 1954 Tooor Tooor Tooor sound... :D

Just replace the original "goal.wav" in
/opt/signove-pelota-images
with the attached one!
(keeping a backup of the original one might be a good idea ;-) )

Are you saying that the app already supports a wav notification when a goal is scored?

Can someone attach here the last updated .deb file because when I trying to update via app manager it says "unable to update pelota widget"? I installed it using the .deb file from MohammadAG in this thread.

Re: World Cup Widget - Pelota from Signove funlabs

Today again. There where fife goals in total, and i was only notified for 2. All goals where shown after a reasonable time, but no flashing LED and no vibration for those 3 goals. I had internet connection all the time.
Don't get me wrong, i really like that widget and am happy that we have something like this, but it seems it is not very reliable in case of notification, at least in my experience.

Is there any Vuvuzela app for the N900 that just plays the monotone horn sound?

this widget is awesome, the only thing missing is keep showing the scores while i'm offline.

The only thing is that this program has a bit of a delay it seems. It used to be much more on the dot towards the beginning... but if i'm watching the game which I am 90% of the time, i won't complain if there's a minute or two delay...

Re: World Cup Widget - Pelota from Signove funlabs

would be nice if one could flip to previous days (to show scores) and next days to see schedule. Apart from that, very nice widget, which I had to rely on yesterday as my cable (foxtel) went down.

Strange that I don't get the Goal wav sound when one is scored. Just checked and the file is in the directory on the N900?

No Offence guys but the lack of world cup apps and poor quality of this one really shows developers aren't interested in developing for this platform :/, maybe meego will be different.

Look at what the rothers have to put up with :(

http://www.callingallgeeks.org/5-fre...orld-cup-2010/

But I suppose I would rather have freedom and liberty to hack and mod than any meaningful apps.

Pleeeeaaase, do not destroy every single thread with complaints about lack of apps!
We have to accept that we wont see huge developer and app provider attention until maemo/meego reaches a reasonable market share...

And instead of bashing the few developers out there we should encourage them to develop for this platform and help them troubleshooting and getting experience...

This little widget worked for me perfectly right from the start and did exactly what it was supposed to do. And I am pretty sure it worked for most users, while only the few with problems post and complain here instead of helping to find the cause of the problem!

Back to the topic at hand,

After the WC, can this widget be integrated with MobiTifo?

Hm, I dont think so as they are from different developers and come from a completely different approach:
Powerful, feature-rich multi-sport app vs. simple widget with limited functionality.

However, I think adding a nice widget to MobiTifo would be a great idea.

Btw, MobiTifo, besides it is still under development and current UI is not yet fully PR1.2 compatible, already has Live Scores ;-)
Ok, without notification so far, but still ;-)

I was thinking about something like clicking the widget will open MobiTifo

Would surely require some cooperation between Magnuslu the MobiTifo developer and Signove Funlabs.

I was thinking of a integrated MobiTifo widget that gives the user the option to configure the widget, e.g. which events are shown...
