I scrolled to the bottom for you and its a language selection. It reads:

English Deutsch Francais.....a couple with symbols i don't have on my keyboard.. then ends with saying: See all available languages.

So what to do now? I wonder if the problem is properly closed or if it's just a quick fix.

It's late here now but I wonder if there's some way to adapt this (on the N900) to do some sort of fuzzing style attack and see if the machine can be made to behave badly again...

I just tried with 315, it doesn't work.

If I hit power -> eject really with the n900 connect the screen just goes black.

If I hit power -> eject without the n900 connect the ps3 boots as normal.

This make me believe that I am hitting the vuln but the mem offsets are different in 315, hence no cigar.

Crossing my fingers for a 315 version =)

what exactly does logan5 firmware bypass do? because I was wondering if it is possible to replicate on an n900. The n900 would then do both, jailbreak and bypass, so that a pc doesn't have to be on.

if it's just a proxy which redirects to a spoofed update.txt file then how come it still works? I use to do this on my always on linux box but it stopped working with firmware 3.2x

You don't need to use PC anymore.
Just simply adjusting your DNS to this IP subnet.

OK, i got my back up manager working(patched) and even backed up a game(mid night club), but im having trouble loading the game, i tried its with the resident evil CD.. its just takes me back to the xmb and show the original CD in the ps3. can some one please help me..

i might have got the whole patch thing wrong maybe, can someone explain.. thanks..

Download from this forum the correck N900 files from post 1. You have the wrong files on the phone. The ones you have on dont have the code change to BDVD in the code.

ok heres the thing, even if i do have the wrong files on my phone, so i download the new working files.. and try to move them to the root AGAIN.. will this do the whole replacing of the old files?? cuz i already tried this.. got the new files, did the whole untar, and it was working, but i duno if its reading the old "sh psfreedom-enable.sh" or the new one.. confusing much ha :P

3.42 firmware blocks all current jailbreak solutions from working, including N900 version. The original PSJailbreak team claims that they will have an updated version available of their product, but I doubt that.

If you don't update you can't connect to PSN or play on-line. There's a trick that allows to stay with 3.41 and still connect to PSN. This involves using a proxy that captures the traffic to PSN update server and sends a false response to PS3.

Well, you know what LoganTool using that proxy as well.
That is the PSN network prox, as I did a few research. Afterall it only bypassing the updating server.

Here is my little video I've made. This is a tutorial for those who wants to bypassing the stupid rediculously Firmware update every frigging month. I hate the update, I hate it when I lost my OtherOS from my PS3. R.I.P YDL6.2 :(

After all the person who hosting it also is one of us, who doesn't like updating firmware that doesn't really give you any benefit other than that it took away features.

Why update if the update is changes nothing? Meanwhile, not updating yet also a good thing, there have been some reports about this 3.42 killed people PS3s. So I'm saying I'll stay low until further needs

FYI, The DNS trick may only work for as long SONY didn't block it. So for the time being it is up and running, but for how long? NO one know!

As far as I know logan5 sets up a proxy server which redirects the check to a local file on the pc you have on. There can be no man in the middle attack because you are the man in the middle. However the other is a DNS server of an unknown party. That is not the psn proxy it is somebody else who points the address the ps3 asks for to something on the server of the man in the middle, who is unknown to me. I'd like to do this on my own linux server or even on the n900 but I remember this stopped working with 3.2x so my question is how come logan5 still works, what does it do differently and how can I replicate this on my own linux box.

PSGroove 1.1 has been released and they say it's ok with 3.42 fw.

So we should wait for an update by KaKaRoTo of PSFreedom according to the new PSGroove 1.1.

Until that day i suggest you to do NOT update and use the DNS trick if you need to go online.

However it seems that Friday we should see Backup Manager 1.1 with a lot of improvements like stealthing and others stuff.

falllowd every step and every things works fine,,
only one probleem i've backup MY twoo games GOW3 and AC2,and put other game on my ps3 and went to manager and load the GOW3 and ps3 restart and i see the logo of GOW3 and i push play,ps3 say need the orgenal Disk to play...???
any one can help pleasee

i'm using 2.6.28.10 power 40
try to back up Assassin's Creed II to the internal HHD,when i wanna start the game the ps3 freez and if i load the Assassin's Creed II from the extranl HHD it's give the erroe that i have to insert the disk ..

i dont know where you are getting the information about it being fine with firmware 3.42. AFAIK, this updated release is just aimed at making homebrew easier to develop, giving more access to a developer, not patching the exploit to work on the new firmware. please, guys, dont update yet.
