Re: camera-ui2 (now a part of CSSU) (updated 03. May)

Do you use the camera-ui that is included in the CSSU or
do you use the latest version from this thread (first post)?

The videorecording bug should be resolved in the latest
version.

Nicolai

Re: camera-ui2 (now a part of CSSU) (updated 03. May)

I found a problem of me.
When I overwrite the camera-ui to /usr/bin, and setup the extra icons.
after reboot, reboot loop occur after 5 dots appear

I did reflash and do it again, same cause occur

nicolai 2011-05-06 13:20

Re: camera-ui2 (now a part of CSSU) (updated 03. May)

Then you have done something wrong.
After copying the camera-ui to /usr/bin, and before rebooting
check that the file is indeed there

ls -l /usr/bin/camera-ui

and that the camera-ui is working

The reflash wasn't necessary:
Just in case this happens again.
set no-lifeguard-reset with the flasher utility:
flasher-3.5 --enable-rd-mode --set-rd-flags=no-lifeguard-reset
This will prevent the reboot loop.
Then, fix the camera-ui binary and after that remove the flag:
flasher-3.5 --disable-rd-mode --clear-rd-flags=no-lifeguard-reset

Re: camera-ui2 (now a part of CSSU) (updated 03. May)

Should the exposure settings look like this?
http://hosted.laasonen.net/attachment-A6ZZUV.png

And it says that I can take 54172422504499 pictures, which can't be correct.

i think there is a bug
when u open the camera (video mode )and use negative mode then switch to sepia u can see that both of them are applied so u can't use sepia mode

The remaining image and recording label is only a dummy. I know how to compute the available memory, but I need a way to guess or compute the remainig recording time. I could need some help here.
Can't you just take average bitrate (0.43 MB/s should be correct enough) and space left in the partition and do simple division?

I didn't mean remove, check if it is there. The output of
ls -l /usr/bin/camera-ui
should be:
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 196815 May 6 22:32 /usr/bin/camera-ui

In the original camera-ui while previewing your photo you just took, you could half/full press the camera button to go right back to taking a new picture just like using the back arrow. Could that be put in camera-ui2 too, it would make it faster to take a new photo.

After upgrading to the lastest CSSU with your new camera-gui my camera has stopped working ... When I open the cover the app opens, but the picture remains black like if something was covering the lens. Has anyone else experienced this?

take the camera-ui.tar.gz from the first post.
Unzip it as root
cd /usr/bin
tar -xzf PATH_TO_THE/camera-ui.tar.gz

Re: camera-ui2 (now a part of CSSU) (updated 03. May)

yesterday I saw this camera app crash. Took two pictures in landscape, then rotated to take one in portrait. As soon as I rotated the phone, the camera app went AWOL.
Restarted it and all went well + couldn't reproduce :/ (didn't try too much)
CSSU + power kernel v47, Bless installed as well.

Also. I have seen one picture with a corrupted horizontal line in the middle of it.

Somebody else seen this too?

I have seen this ones in a picture taken with
blessn900, so t might be related with blessn900s
driver.

Worked! I forgot I had also installed kernel-power at the same time and assumed it was something to do with the CSSU, thanks for the tip!

sorry but I don't understand what I have to do...
I downloaded the file camera-ui.tar.gz on my pc and unzipped. I have a file without extension. and now? Do I copy in usr/bin?

nicolai 2011-05-09 13:54

Re: camera-ui2 (now a part of CSSU) (updated 03. May)

Yes, copy the file to /usr/bin

And verify that it is executable. If it isn't (because you unzipped
it on a nonlinux filesystem) it might result in a reboot loop.

petur 2011-05-09 14:00

Re: camera-ui2 (now a part of CSSU) (updated 03. May)

maybe a stupid question, but how is the updating of the version in the CSSU planned? Is there a release cycle which will include updates of your app?

ok, I installed correctly but now I have another question. What is the number that I see like 2737612154.....it is not corrected I think

nicolai 2011-05-09 14:29

Re: camera-ui2 (now a part of CSSU) (updated 03. May)

@petur
All updates in this version are in the open gitorious
repository. And this is used by the cssu version
as well.

@iscio
this is a bug with the counter for
remaining images/ recording time.

iscio 2011-05-09 14:35

ok I hope it could be corrected ;-P thanks

about gitorious repository...if I insert this repository I'll see next update of camera-ui?

no, that's the repository for the source. It means then whenever the CSSU guys will release a new version, his app is updated too
