I have read that some people have cosmetic issues with the black N9 (chipping, coating coming off, etc.). Has anyone experienced or heard of any similar issues with the white N9?

Also, isn't the white N9 more prone to general wear & tear, fingerprints and dirt? The white glossy finish seems a bit "fragile" to me.

(Still trying to decide between black & white N9...)

I'm using Zagg full protector, body and screen: easy to apply with their tools (it must be very wet to slide correctly when apply), but orange peel effect on screen, and it's uggly look on white:

After 3 weeks of use, slide effect is better, but orange peel effect still here, even if it's less now.



My white felt on road while I was going out my car, on the corner near jack hole: just a little mark, half a milimeter: the body is full white IN, no coating.
Glossy finish is great for me, less fingerprints, no dirt (after 3 weeks, Zagg protector seems a little bit dirt, but not the part of the body without protection...).
Just be carefull with very dry hand: it may slide...:o

I've looked at a couple of these pages, especially the one boyyocool linked to up top there which I nearly ordered a while back. Would love to see some photos of them fitted to an N9 if anyone here has one?

Hate when I waste money on what turns out to be a poorly fitting case, cheap though they may be, times is hard for me at the moment so have to choose wisely:)

Does any US store have it on stock for less than $570?

I took my chance with SimplyElectronics knowing that I could issue a credit card charge-back if they fcuk with me. And of course they did. And so I did. Charge-back that is. Right after their first bullsh*t email.

Anyway, that cost me a few days, and of course now it's sold out at ctinyc.com, which had them for $533:

I would like to share that I had a great shopping experience from CTI NYC

I placed an order last Sunday and they delivered the cell by Wednesday (to NJ). No hiccups, no surprises. This one is Made in Finland though when I talked to the rep he said he gets both Finland and China variety (and of course that it doesn't matter!).

The seal of the box was broken though, but no signs of anything that cause me to worry.

They are out of stock currently, but if you do see them stocked again, might be a good place to shop from. Cheers!

Nothing to report from my side. I dont think its coated the way the black version is. It may have a clear coat to protect the finish but I havent seen anything to confirm this.

I dont use the synthetic leather sleeve it comes with but I make sure not to place it on any surface where it could cause the chrome/polished metal camera strip to scratch. So far so good.

I've only had it for a month now I think and the only thing I can point out is about the dirt but that should be fairly obvious with any white device. The tiny gaps between the simtray/usb cover and the body collects fine pieces of dust/lint but nothing that a good wipe down wouldnt sort out. That and fingerprints are also clearly seen on the glossy finish.

The white is a stunning piece of hardware, I'd say go for it ;)

The White N9's do indeed seem to have disappeared from stock everywhere, even ebay doesn't pull up any results for a worldwide search. Wonder if Nokia has ceased production of the White N9, or maybe the N9 alltogether(there would have been a far greater reserve of the other colours).

Would be interested if anyone can confirm this.

Looks as though you can still get the White N9 from this store in Finland who will at least send within the European Union for a fair price.

You need to email them for details, then you'd need to email them your account details as going throught the site regisrtation only allows you to choose between I think 2 or 3 countries. They can do this manually for you though.

Verkkokauppa.com was also the first to have white N9.

Seeing gigantti, one of the largest retailers in Finland removed white N9 after discounts 2 weeks ago and 16GB models started since last week selling for crazy 299€.

I think N9 is starting to be done. Sales have seemed to be minimal after the first 2 months of hype.

Glossy easy to scratch, but very pretty to look. Colleague has one, compared my black to his, both finishes can get destroyed from a drop. He is going to wrap his, like I did mine. Wrapped though, his finish will look the same, unlike mine.

I am using white N9 for 3 months now - not any issues with the finish. I am careful owner, but I do not use cover. I look not to place it on hard surfaces that can scratch it neither carry it in pocket with coins or keys.
Only when skiing I put it in silicon original case to keep it warm and for easy handling with cold hands(silicon gives you better grip than glossy white finish).

I have a black one, and there's some gap,I have to clean it 3-4 times/month.
I like the white one, I'm trying to find white N9 here in my country but it's impossible I think.

I'm slightly worried about that glossy finnish, because I like to have a scratchless phone. The black is pretty tough (not a single scratch for almost 5 month).

I've the black[raven], blue[cyan], red[magenta] & white[unicorn] - none of them have any 'gap' between the body & the screen. No issues whatsoever till date, using them [collected each gradually] since Nov-11.

There's one thing for sure - Nokia has done a wonderful job at it's R&D, design & manufacture - the N9 is a rock-solid device - works perfect, looks good [stunning actualy] and is virtually scratch-proof.

Ditto the white... glossy, so what?
