Flashed NorthernEurope successfully, but now i got the "Warning! You have modified the firmware..."-Message. :confused:

Seems there is now no reason not to flash OpenKernel when its available for PR1.2 :D

Hello,

I have yet to receive the PR 1.2 update for my device in Romania, even though I have seen other local users confirm that they had received it already. I have a 16GB black.

I currently have PR1.1(20.2011.40-4.441.2_PR_441) installed. This is weird, because most people have just 1-9 at the end, right?

While trying to troubleshoot the issue I did an apt-get update and the result said:

[...]
W: Failed to fetch https://downloads.maemo.nokia.com/ha..././Packages.gz The requested URL returned error: 404

Could it be that my firmware repository is broken, since the 441 cannot be reached?

If you feel your N9 sluggish right after the update to PR1.2 - do NOT worry! It is just tracker rebuilding its database. Takes like 10 minutes, after that your device will be silky smooth again! :P

I flashed my N9 via NaviFirm back to proper PR1.2, the keyboards are finally IN, phone acts pretty cool but I can´t open/send/receive any mail, I can´t go to my Facebook and my Gallery is empty....
I re-installed my accounts twice, rebooted twice but once I open Mail app it says "Set up your mail"...but check this: I can see all of my accts in Accounts app, I can even log on to Fbook, Gtalk, Skype and see the green icon...but no access to mail app at all...once I start setting up new mail it says the mail already exists...totally insane...

@gallery: I copied some pictures to the phone while in Mass Storage, I can see them all in Filebox @ PIctures but the Gallery app is empty...

I did the same with some music and no problem there....

Is there official PR1.2 on NSU yet?
AFAICR the NSU is always the most reliable way on how to update the phone properly...I had similar issues after some flashing PR1.1 before, once I re-installed the FW via NSU, the problems were gone...

I would install developer mode, ssh to the phone using putty, apt-get install --reinstall libmaliit1

Not so easy but worth a try

u need to backup the phone with Nokia Link...
it`s alright, will keep your contacts, messages, calendars, apps...
click on right bottom (settings) in NL, there`s an option for backup/restore

Same thing as last time when I was waiting for like a week to get pr 1.1 on my Denmark Black 64gb so I changed it to North Europe. I think NDT stands for Nokia Default Transciever.

Well after struggling for hours with the Update interrupted problem and Nokias BS (only releasing a .deb for the harmatan flasher) I flashed with PR 1.1 through a Windows XP Virtual Box using NSU and then updated to PR1.2 with no problem. Everything seems really smooth but twhere the fff is the folder view lol?

Well, last night I was finally able to reflash my phone.

I was going to post last night, but it seemed the forum was down? Too much traffic perhaps? Nonetheless...

I was able to flash my (1.1-005) phone to (1.2-001) Which is nice, but of course, the reflash didn't go smoothly for me either.

Now, I completely cleaned the device, so it was only when I ran a backup, that I got a few issues.

One were green "squircles" that used to be my contacts from contactlaunch. Yeah, I had to remove those manually.

Also, my pictures won't load in Gallery (I think that the folders have been moved around? Hopefully someone can figure this out, I can wait for some pictures)

I also cannot install Apps For Meego client, and Home Screen Settings.

They download but fail, everything else has worked so far.

Hopefully they will get updates or some such thing that is preventing their installation, I'm not sure, but I'm keeping my eyes on the forum.

Everything else has gone fine, the phone is very nice and responsive... but those sounds are annoying as hell... I'm gonna have to figure out how to disable those.


EDIT: So, I couldn't install Apps for Meego, also again I assume because of the back up.

I installed Meecatalog, in order to see the repositories I had (I originally did it that way... cause I'm a fool...) Anyway, one of them is the Apps for Meego repository.

So I removed it along with all the extra repositories, restarted, and wouldn't ya know, it installed!

Gonna check Home Screen settings now (Although I never really used that App before, it's a nice temp until N9Qtweak works with 1.2 safely)

I'm not familiar with NSS but if anyone can point me in the right direction to the info on how to change the region code I'll give it a shot.

I just flashed (Pr1.2 and emmc) the northern europe pr 1.2, everything right now seems perfect, no issues.

Google NSS (Nemesis Service Suite)

1.Connect your N9 with the USB cable
2.Now open NSS, scan the new device (click the magnifying glass icon)
3.Choose “phone info" after that select "read"
4.You can now see what your phone product code is.
5.At this moment you must modify the power mode to "local"
6.Your handset will restart in local mode,
7. Tick the product code and write a new product code over there then click the "write" option .
8.Set power mode to normal once more and hit "read"

Done!

there are 2 big files on navifirm: one is 1.1gb (MCU) other is 1.4gb (Content)- what is the difference?

You need both of those files to do a clean flash of PR1.2. Use the command line provided by marnuc

any opinions on how to enable MAIL app again???
I`m driving really crazy as I received the update notification yesterday, it initially looked pretty good but once I hit Speed Up Transitions in N9QT after update, it all went straight down..badly...
first off I was unable to get any keyboard back...
I flashed the phone this morning via NaviFirm, the keyboards are back...
but ever since, I`m unable to use any of my emails...I have them all set at Accounts, deleted them, reset them, over and over again, nothing happened...everytime I open Mail app it says Set new account...once I try to do it, it says email already exists...
damn it...
then I re-installed the FW with NSU, it went thru on probably 6th time, everytime before it would finish with a message unable to finish update properly...
so I thought I`m gonna be lucky after it did, but the mail app doesn`t respond after that, at all...


any special cmd to kill all accounts and reset the app?

Does having the WLAN or 3G connection always on wasting a lot of battery?
I was told that having it on all the time does not increase the idle power consumption, but not fully sure if that's true. Can anyone confirm this?

Swiss N9 64GB: still nothing OTA, connecting with NSU says that I have updates when right clicking the systray icon, but then nothing in the main window. Oh well, I'll have to wait another month as in PR1.1 :)

I've got a Swiss N9, 16 GB, Cyan - but the product code is different: 059L5H1

Not all variants got the OTA in the first wave it seems. Some carrier specific variants take longer. I have such a variant. Thinking of flashing a different one.

Do you think it's ok to flash different version than the phone has on it now? Will it void warranty or something?
