btw. how could this affect your decision about the jPad when that campaign ended before this upgrade\downgrade?

btw it could be worse...you could have been one of thr guys locked out of your own phone.

As I said its just one of the reasons why I am quite disappointed in Jolla/ with my jolla phone at the moment. There is also yellow part of the screen burnt in from this monday, call dropping, random reboots once or twice a month...

Truth be told I do agree with you it could be worse and being locked out would suck even more.

What is this thread actually supposed to be? To me, it looks like the same kind of "fan vs. critics" b_tch-fest that console kiddies engage in.

You know, the very furthest thing from a discussion.

I get that. However, the title contains "Discussion." I was kind of expecting an actual discussion to take place.

u are right. Another thing that is strange with the thread title now. Its no longer Update 10. should be update 11 or 12.

eyy, we're having a discussion :D

Lol and there it is. You know what they say. If you want something done, do it yourself.

So, what does the latest update entail outside of updating to the latest Qt version? Bugfixes? Driver updates?

The latest update only includes one thing. It will remove lock function from you jPhone.

The next one after that will hit us in the face on monday morning...including this: https://together.jolla.com/question/...-vaarainjarvi/ - Alphanumeric lock.

That seems...oddly basic. I suppose announcing bugfixes wouldn't be very exciting.

Is there anything that desparately needs updating? Perhaps UI changes or the web browser or camera app?

To be fair, that can and does happen with any device, and is covered by warranty.

I'll admit; I kind of skimmed the top of that linked page.

That's massive. There's even some UI changes. That's pretty exciting!

Is there anything they missed? As far as I can tell, all bases are covered.

True. But I can't think of anything not covered in this upcoming update. Then again, I'm from the outside-looking-in.

So despite being one of the first ones (still on 1. 0 .8. 21) I did not get the update yesterday and by the looks of it will not get it today, so monday it is.

This here is one of the reasons why I did not support, Jollas tablet campaign. Very unprofessional and disapointing.

some of the last upfates havent notified me, but when i have polled for them they have been availabe.
opt10 got home 4+ hours after avail, no notification (with 50G+ net with check allways), hour of twidlling at home before "pull" which shows the update.

Lately I have been trying to tell everybody that there is no push anymore on the Internet, there are only broken emulations of that.

This could be very good update (waiting monday, first time of my life...). Now call recording is possible?

But still no personal ring-tones... Well, maybe i can wait another "month"...

Re: SailfishOS Update10 discussions

@catbus call recording is possible since u9

@coderus, that was opt-in update? - I just wanted to be sure... and make noise ;)

coderus 2014-12-20 01:10

Re: SailfishOS Update10 discussions

@catbus yes u9 was opt-in. and it was not a beta. it was very stable release and full of features. u8 to u9 is about 1500 MB, u9 to u10 about 200-300 MB.

I updated my phone last night. Now the phone is kind of snappy and does not lag. Even mitaakuulu seems ok. Now that I have Update 10, my wait for Coderus to work his magic and bring us a better Whatsapp client begins!! Coderus, we are waiting for you!

I suppose it's because they don't work on weekends.

Seriously. Jolla don't work weekends? Then they should release only on Monday/thusday...

vistaus 2014-12-20 19:10

Re: SailfishOS Update10 discussions

Some people from Jolla do work on weekends, but not all of them. Hence why it would be troublesome to give support to *everyone* which they can do on weekdays. Seems only fair. We don't want them working beyond their schedule too much, else we have a lot of Jolla people with a burnout in the near future...

After updating the mobile data/connection indicator is fully lit continuously for me. Anyone else?

It's never been particularly reliable. The only reliable indicator of the signal quality was in my experience the one in the "Select internet connection" pulley menu. I don't see how or why the two should differ but they often do.

Ah, I meant the connection activity traffic up/down indicator.

Since the update, I had 3 reboots despite the battery being very tight (several pieces of paper underneath the battery). So I cleaned the contacts and put some contact spray.

I hope it will get better.

I don't know, but i love U10 :). No lags or RAM issues. Browser is like newer before, now we only need a copy + paste from pages. Maybe text editing should be such easy than inside SailfishOS? i like that zoom-in seek function and copy + paste.

Dave999 2014-12-21 11:18

Re: SailfishOS Update10 discussions

Yeah. I really hope jolla release it early tomorrow...I'm excpecting the update in less than 24H

minimos 2014-12-21 19:19

Re: SailfishOS Update10 discussions

Although the situation seems to have improved in U10, I still see the annoying "<appname> is not responding" warning when using Warehouse, especially when there are several apps to upgrade.

Don't forget "Personal ring-tones"! "We" need that too...

But nice to hear that everything else is working smoothly...

Thanks...
