@Seker_94:

Puking... Done. And we had the first one to win a place in my ignore list. Even abill was not able to do it. Congratulations.

BTW I am bulgarian(typical or not), which is not exactly the same as russian ;). Not that being a russian is a bad thing, it just happened that I am not.

Installed .debs and libgstdsp.so as recommended, reboot...
boot loop...
I assume the only cure is a reflash...
I don't actually see how the two are related but it was the only thing I have installed or changed in weeks. Only thing of interest was that I believe dpkg did grab updated packages form the net, perhaps add to the instructions to do this offline? Again I am not sure that has anything to do with the boot loop other than it occurred immediately after install after almost a year of running.
Decided to install after this https://torrentfreak.com/bittorrent-...orrentfreak%29 and this http://scenerules.irc.gs/t.html?id=2012_SDTVx264r.nfo

Compared to other devices having a full apt-get packaging system makes system reinstall a bit less painful. I will try to add the 720p packages again once I have power kernel installed. It was probably time for a wipe anyway.

@freemangordon:

Here are links for new (N9) version of TI DSP libraries & codecs:
https://qa9recEP:Pat2UGuP@downloads....+0m7_armel.deb
https://qa9recEP:Pat2UGuP@downloads....+0m7_armel.deb
https://qa9recEP:Pat2UGuP@downloads....+0m7_armel.deb

And what I suggesting is to attach binaries to this thread without depending on external Nokia server.

Nobody from Nokia did not responce yet about this probem (bug on harmattan bugtracker was ignored), so I do not see any problem to publish binaries here. (And if it will be problem, Nokia/TMO moderators/... will delete it).

I (and also other people) do not want to wait. We should go ahead and push package(s) to Extras-Devel!

PS: Also Interesting are N9 repositories (main file is Package):
Code:

deb https://qa9recEP:Pat2UGuP@downloads.maemo.nokia.com/harmattan/001 ./
deb https://qa9recEP:Pat2UGuP@downloads.maemo.nokia.com/harmattan/apps ./
deb https://qa9recEP:Pat2UGuP@downloads.maemo.nokia.com/harmattan/tools ./

(change 001 to other number for other regions)

Same reboot loop problem here. A warning in the 1st psot to do a backup before attempting to install the files could be usefull.

NFC what is wrong, might be related to PR 1.2 (i.e. DSP binaries are no longer available?). Can't remember such problems so far. Anyway tomorrow I will try to install on my second device to check if everything is OK. The warnings in the OP are more than enough.

@Pali, what is the idea of pushing something in extras-devel, when it depends on the user downloading external binaries? BTW it is KP50 which should be pushed in extras-devel first :p

Oops it is my fault. Sorry.

Found what happed with a simple uname - I was testing everything on my spare which I had returned to the vanilla kernel and completely forgot about it.

With power v49 kernel no more reboot loop.

However I'm not sure it is working.

With http://sourceforge.net/projects/matr...1.zip/download : nothing at all plays while you mentionned test4 only should fail

I also tried to visit m.youtube.com/?fmt=4 then fmt=5 then fmt=18 then fmt=22 - media player always says "codec non supported".

I rebooted and reinstalled all the .deb and the .so in the right dir, following the instructions to the letter, checked the dates to make sure the .so was overwritten, then rebooted, but it didn't help. I'm using CSSU-stable in case it's causing problems but from what I've read it shouldn't.

Anything special I should check?

[Also, What is the right fmt to get a video that can be played in the media playe and work fine on the screen - say 420p?]

I will wait until it is in the repositories, I spent the day reinstalling a pile of scripts and hacked together apps, but definitely look forward to having HD vid on my N900. Can you suggest an easy DSP overclocking app or script that runs either when the media player runs 720p or begins to bog down? Thanks all around.
