what about google contacts???
 
Hi all.

OK...so I understand MfE is gone. I managed to fetch my calendar (with CalDav) and my mail (with Google). What can I do for my contacts from google servers??? Do we have anything for that?
I did find something called syncgcontacts (http://store.ovi.com/content/305913) but it only works one way (this is a major drawback for me) and , anyways, I couldn't make it work for me. So now I have all my lifelong, carefully selected contacts in google hands. My friend who still keeps a paper notebook warned me this apocalypse would come...:mad:

I have recently faced error,cannot load mail by mail app with my Yahoo! mail. Can someone share your setting, pls?

What should be correct outgoing server? and incoming server?

My mail domain is : abc@yahoo.com

Hi

I have 2 mfe accounts and both with contacts sync activated. One works, the other doesn't. I've tried with a couple of providers and it seems as if the 2nd account work sync contact. After looking into the wiki page for mfe (http://wiki.maemo.org/Email_and_Mail_for_Exchange_n9) and activating the logs I see in the activesync.log that contacts sync is disabled even if the GUI shows it's activated.

Any ideas why this is happening?

first question. DId you enable contacts sync for a second account from accounts UI (that shouldn't be possible, trust me)? If no, then have you used something to modify activesync settings for your accounts?
Last question, are you sure that you enabled contacts sync for both accounts (like I said it shouldn't be possible to enable it via accounts UI)? You shouldn't have a switch for "sync contacts" at all in a second account.

Hello,

I use mfe to sync my work e-mail and calendar but unfortunately the sysadmins in my company informed all N9 users that they are ceasing MeeGo support in August and will block any devices identified as running meego from connecting to the activesync servers.

i wonder if there is any way to make my N9 report that it is running android instead. I also have a Nexus 4 and have noticed that it has a device id for activesync of the type androidXXXXXXXXXX where XXXXXXX looks like a hash of some value. Can i modify my N9 to report back such a string?

Also, any chance I can modify the "sync old messages" duration to be longer that the maximum 2 weeks allowed through the interface?

theok for syncing all messages you can use MeMailSettings. I've no idea on the device identifier part, maybe Sergey could help.

Btw are you working in Nokia for them to deliberately choose to block N9s from connecting? :p

Honestly, I simply do not remember is there any way to make your N9 visible as non-MeeGo device. As for the sync more then 2 weeks emails. Check MeMailSettings app (small self advertisement :-D).

BTW, anyone wanna buy me a beer in Malmo or Copenhagen? :) I'm here for ~10 days or so... ;)

Can anyone help me with settings for Yahoo mail? When I enter ones I've found on the internet, they work initially and I get the stuff currently in my inbox. After that, new mail is never able to be downloaded and I believe I just repeatedly get a prompt to enter my password and it never accepts it.

My phone says the mailbox hasn't been updated in a month, lol

Are you using POP or IMAP? Same thing happened for me when I tried to use POP. I switched to IMAP and it works perfectly.
