Here's a very early screenshot with only the bottom two corner icons changed in my canola theme to got with the Kobayashi Theme. Expect the main icons to look similar to the ones I've made for the kobayashi themes. I havent heard back though, about how to change the font color of canola for the different themes. Suggestions for what youd like the main icons to look like are welcome. :)

Is your more compact RSS reader available for download? If not are there alternatives? The in-built one just wastes so much space!

Finally.. all done with the theme! Hope everyone likes, please feel free to suggest any improvements. As I posted before, the text isnt changed as of yet...still havent found out the apparent hard way to do it from the developer, and, when selecting a specific song in the list view the dark green matching background select bar doesnt appear correctly, it is the bright green default for some reason. Though, it is only when selecting a song that this behavior occurs, when selecting anything else in the list view the matching dark green color bar appears as it should.

Had to make another post to show the rest of the screenshots for the main areas. Oh, forgot to say on the first post...theres apparently not a way to change the youtube icon or videocast icon as of yet.

EDIT: Fixed the photoviewer next and previous icons. Put the new deb up with the fix.

I re-did the main icons to make them a bit more rounded and softer. Also did this theme in the "Meta Theme" colors as well.

I installed E17 in Ubuntu on my N810. It has a new module called Illume designed to make it easy to use on mobile devices, which is what I'm using in the screenshots.

Overall, it has a feel that is very similar to that of Android. As you can see, it is intended to be finger friendly (those button are all pretty easy to press). It is also supposed to have a really good onscreen keyboard that will magnify wherever you press on the screen, but I haven't gotten it to work yet. Still, it's a pretty nice, light desktop (my full desktop is running on 55MB RAM).

The advantages over hildon are that it uses less screen real estate, is just as light, is more configurable, but most importantly: APPLICATIONS DON'T REQUIRE HILDONIZATION.

The internet browser in the screenshots is epiphany using webkit, which feels pretty fast to me.

In the third screenshot, you can see the "shelf" that slides down when pressed to offer more options for each program. Also, all programs are maximized and you switch programs by pressing the directional arrows on the shelf at the top.

I'm going to try and make deb's for the E17 if I can figure out how.

Sure, it just takes quite a while to compile it!

I used to make debs, I've just forgotten how since it's been a while.

Posted a how to in the Ubuntu thread.
