Yep it is, but on the N9 it wasn't synched with the app orientation and it was confusing.

So, better definition: swipe from the top of the application

(not vertically, i.e. perpendicularly to the sea level)

Another way to say it is lock the swipe orientation also if the app is locked

That place seems to be geared only for submitting, is there section for browsing what's actually there yet? (n.b. I'm using desktop browser -Firefox- not a jolla phone)

Well, it seems to have worked out quite well for them. Maybe it would be better for you too if you'd try to wrap your head around it, it makes a lot of sense if you think about it.

Yes, this makes a bit more sense (gestures relative to the orientation of the application). It's somewhat consistent. However it still seems a bit weird that gestures would change relative to the user, depending on the applications being locked or rotatable. In Harmattan (hacked one, where rotation of the screen was enabled), it was consistent relative to the user's view (top, bottom, left, right etc.). It seems to be more stable relative perspective, so I'm not really sure what's more confusing this, or the above.

Worked quite well? Android never worked quite well when it comes to efficiency and multitasking. It's IMHO broken by design.

On the bottom picture next to screw 13 is probably metal leaf switch at the hole which will sense if the other half is installed and in place. If anyone have problems that the other half is not recognized it might be that the switch is not taking contact from the other half.

Jolla harbour only hold sailfish apps. You want Android apps you go to an Android store. The only Android related item in the Harbour store is the Android compatibility app.

Definitely something wrong with power management and with Location ON the GPS/GLONASS chip seems to be all the time on. With current battery performance I can't think of using this as my primary phone.

Testing continues with conditions changed:
- Developer mode off
- WiFi off

0:00 18:55 battery 100 %, test has started, USB cable unplugged

15:38 10:33 battery 72 %,
25:11 20:06 battery 53 %

53:34 Projected battery charge level 0 %

I don't know if it was disabling of developer mode or WiFi that improved battery consumption so much, but need to test. Next to enable WiFi back ON and continue testing.

Regarding offline android gps apps like sygic:

OK.. I assume it can't be done, otherwise people would have been (rightly) boasting about it by now. So does this mean there will never be any turn by turn voice navigation on jolla? nokia never gave us turn by turn on n900 maps, so i'm wondering is this just history repeating itself?

Wow that's a true bummer. Why would they do that, sailfish apps will get lost in a sea of mediocrity.
