MPD don;t answer calls, no "online chat service" like they say on the recorded phone message either. Not best pleased here tbh.

I've spoken to them three times this week and the online chat is here... http://bit.ly/5UuBEy

Cheers for that, I'm just too late for online chat now, looks like Monday is best chance of a reply as I've emailed them now. Couldn't find the chat on their actual site :s

Thanks :D

Well yeah I think so, I tested the speakers and the mic works ok, I did a skype echo123 call (sim not active yet!).

Is there anything else to look for? I haven't crashed yet, but I did get a little lag earlier, but I think thats because it was syncing my Weave history in Firefox.

You can either attempt to contact them to find something you do have, or wait a month or two for the current exclusivity to expire and try another carrier.

Heard o2 do the same thing too now :/ I suppose if its vodafone who want it, I could sort something out, as they have shops near

Re: Mobile Phones Direct N900 Customers

Hey guys, just thought I'd share my experience with my N900 so far. It arrived about 1PM today, I popped the battery in, and turned it on right away. Fiddled with it for a bit, then put it on charge for about an hour. I then unplugged it, even though it wasn't fully charged, and loaded it with my entire music library. When that was done, I was out the door, and went out to do some Xmas shopping.

I have been using the phone all day, just about constantly - listening to music, surfing the internet both with WLAN and GPRS. Gues what?

I havent had a single restart yet & I still have about 60% battery left! The phone is in perfect working order. Cant say I've found any faults with it! This is the best piece of technology I've had in my hands since my previous N95 8GB (which is now sulking in the corner, because I've abandoned it lol. For those who haven't got it yet, TRUST ME, its worth the wait.

The only thing I cant figure out is how to connect to T-Mobile web n walk? It says T-mobile internet instead, but i'll get charged for using that. Called up T-mobile, and apparantly, they dont have WAP / GPRS or even MMS settings for the N900 as yet . . .

Guess here, but google for the settings for an N97 or whatever and all will be well with them.

Finally managed to get home and try out the n900.

1) Still using my old sim and everything seems to be ok.

2) When I setup the phone the battery only had a dribble of charge left. I plugged in the charger and thankfully it charged the n900 fine.

3) My OH called my number and the mic works!

4) The screen does not have any obvious dead pixels.

5) No crashes so far (touch wood) been using it for a couple of hours.

6) All other functionality seems fine. Mian disappointment is the camera in low light. My old SE k800i (3.2 megapixel cybershot) takes better pictures.

So far so good - I am glad this post became a positive one and will hopefully put a few minds at rest.

My device with the broken screen was sent on thursday back to MPD.

My vodafone contract has started, meaning Im now liable for the £120 termination fee from 3.

I cant sell my n96 yet because i've ported the number, thus would have no phone if sold.

In short: *cry*

Sorry, blonde moment, ordered mine on tues 8th, an received it this afternoon, I promise it is worth the wait. Mine was sent from Machester, that must have been the furthest distance they could have sent it! lol
