Yeah I've found a few. Bit quick off the mark asking for help, just hacked off at the moment!

Re: Mobile Phones Direct N900 Customers

Having major problems trying to get a RAN to return my N900, anyone else not getting a response?

Phone was attempted delivery last Friday, picked up and signed for on Tuesday. Doesn't fit my requirements, as I've got to have better sat nav, and it's bulky. And the contract is too expensive to justify these shortcomings. So according to their return policy I can send back within 7 days of receiving.

Every day I've tried ringing the 0845 number but no answer. I emailed them Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. On the Thursday I rang Nokia Retail in Newbury. They couldn't help and gave me a direct MPD number. This went to the shop floor, the guy who answered said he couldn't help cos it wasn't faulty. Said the only way I can get an RMA is to email them. He said he'd email them too. I rang T-mobile on Thursday too to notify them of the situation and they made a note on my account that MPD were fobbing me off, as evidence if needed later, but as it's through a 3rd party they couldn't cancel the contract.

Still no responses....and no answer on the phone this morning.

Anyone any suggestions?

It's here, and no complaints at all. Happily charging, makes calls over WiFi and my old orange SIM. No dead pixels.
No contact from Vodafone as of yet, but I'm happy as larry anyway :-)

Email the CEO of MPD karl.borges@mobilephonesdirect.co.uk - many people as well as me have found this works to kick things.

So Ordered from MPD on Monday, arrived about an hour ago. Box was very cold, obviously been sitting in cold van overnight, will wait for a couple of hours for it to aclimatise to warm house before I turn it on, just in case of condensation.:D

Everything OK here as well. I have not tried data on 3G as Vodafone account will be activated on Monday and use old simcard which I do not have data allowance. But with wifi usage no problems so far.

One thing that I cannot find is how to display the battery life and sound volume level in terms of percentage as opposed to a bar level in which you cannot see accurately the level. Or perhaps it's an omission?

it's an ommision. there is a way in xterm to do it. but i think there is also an app in development. so not to far away.

Update.

Walked into the Reading shop today. They said they can cancel my online order and supply me with the mother of all phones (N900) immediately, however, as the guy was running my details into the system, he said that the webshop still hasn't updated my credit check, meaning, I'm back to square one; waiting for the bloody webshop to sort it out!!!!

I am totally fed up.

Re: Mobile Phones Direct N900 Customers

I've had no response since sending for replacement.

Ive sent 3 emails requesting information on their repairs/replacement procedure and have had nothing back.

TBH I doubt they are in tomorrow but I would've expected a reply, possibly even a new device today. sent it RMSD thursday and should have reached them on friday, so they would turn it on, see it doesnt work, post me a new tablet. Seems simple but I cant see how this is taking this long.

@rawutt
Ive also had my voda contract started. Ive had to unlock my old n96 which cost me another £15.

Re: Mobile Phones Direct N900 Customers

No delivery for me or e-mails, though its been 'ready to dispatch' since Friday. I don't understand why they haven't posted it on Friday, but maybe this is to do with RM special delivery now being different for a Saturday delivery (sure things used to just turn up as usual - seems to be something extra now).

Anyway, was passing so just went into Southampton MPD store to see if they happened to have my package and they said 'they are all posted from a central office' - shows how little they know! TBH they seemed a bit grumpy so I didn't bother asking if they would do me one over the counter - I don't think they would have anyway. Back to waiting for post now and the irritating problem of having to wait 24 hours before collection if I get a slip through the door.

I did get my hands on the dud demo unit in store and it seems spot-on what I expected from that. Soooo looking forward to this thing turning up!

oh i just noticed i forgot to draw my avatars beard haha.
this thing is already coming in really handy. the trains are all messed up but the n900 comes to the rescue with up to date travel info. even foumd out what platform my train is on before i got here to make my connection.

this is truely a fantastic device. cant understand why some people such as "megacrazy" slag it off so much. i thiink its a masterpiece of hardware and software engineering.

I just fetched mine back from Nokia repair today. they couldn't start it by reflashing it so it is dead. I mailed MPD on Wednesday to ask them to send me a returns code in case this happened but still haven't had an answer. You can't believe how totally f'd off I am now.

NBG, Mine ended up dying completely, (It bricked) got an returns number from MPD (rang them) and was told to send it back you have to pay postage and they'll refund it. Had a moment of genius and took it to local shop where they changed it straight away.

This one works fine.

The manger tried to switch it on, and it was still bricked.

Go to the phone application and touch the top bar. Last option should be the one you are looking for. Roughly translated from finnish it should be something like accelerometer options or something similar.

TBH i'd give it a chance. my old n82 had a stuck pixel from new. was always green. after i forgot about it (took maybe a couple days) i didnt ever really notice it. tho i guess its easy for me to say that since mine has no obvious dead pixels.

but hey, aint this device totally orgasmically amazing!!!!!!!!!!!! :D
