How does a website like shopblt have 23000 n900 incoming and newegg only have 700? Honestly, I had never even heard of shopblt.com before visiting these forums.

Re: N900 shipping delayed

i emailed them about it, and they gave me this:

Buy.com No Reply Customer Support
to me

show details Nov 17 (4 days ago)

Hello Dat,

Thank you for your email regarding order #xxxxxxxx. We understand that the delivery is taking longer than expected. This is because item #212003401 falls under 'Pre-order'. This means that the publisher, studio or manufacturer has yet to release the product.

We will send the package out as soon as it is available. The expected release date is 11/22/09. An e-mail will be sent when the item is shipped. Only then will your credit card be billed.

Thank you for your patience.

Apparently another person who ordered from buy.com got this date also, somewhere in another thread. Just wanted to confirm if anyone else got this.

Maybe Newegg didn't place much faith into the selling ability of the n900 so they limited their liability but not buying as many units?

Because Shop-blt is mostly a wholesaler/distributor that sells to smaller stores, but also sells to end users if they really want to, and therefore has a lot of units?

Who knows. Neweggs units might even be coming from shopblt.

Re: N900 shipping delayed

Greetings from Amazon.co.uk.

Unfortunately, the release date for the item(s) listed below was changed by the supplier, and we need to provide you with a new estimated delivery date based on the new release date:

"Nokia N900 Sim Free Mobile Computer with Maemo 5 Software"
Estimated arrival date: December 01 2009 - December 04 2009

I got this from my Amazon pre-order on the 1st of November. You can add this date to your table. Interesting I cancelled my order on the 1st and placed with MPD as they were quoting Nov 16th and appeared to have "Exclusive" access to stock.....

Not sure why I bothered as Amazon seem to be quoting an accurate time and I have placed many orders with them. This is probably my first and last with MPD. Needless to say if Amazon show availability before MPD I will go back to them.

Re: N900 shipping delayed

22nd is the date I was told by Buy.com rep as well. I called couple of times since I placed my pre-order with them sometime back in Oct and they seem to be pretty consistent with the date. Do note 22nd is just the release date given by their supplier, and when they say release date.

I called again just now and Brandon told me it is now postponed by Nokia until notified. he told me he's positively sure they already have the stock in their warehouse, just waiting for Nokia right now. I would say Nokia is pushing back release date for other retailers until Nokia store ships out their pre-orders

I think Nokia is still looking for ways to reflash all the already shipped devices with newer firmware because they found a severe bug. I can't find another explanation for these mysterios behavior of Nokia.

Now there is some FUD!

Has NokiaUSA called ANYONE else to cancel their order?
Nope, I contacted them today and placed some rage. They are dealing with a shitstorm of angry customers. I have a "call back" coming Monday apparently but I have very little to no faith on that. More than likely my N900 has been perma pushed back as they are filling orders and not reserving units for their screw up.

They are holding tighly onto the few orders they havenīt screwed up. Thereby angering those customers that wish to cancel and screwing up some more.

Yes it is complete BS.

Ring your credit card company and explain to them what has happened, they should be able to prevent the money from being taken and the shop shouldn't ship the order.

Hi, Im new here, but found something interesting and wanted to see your views on it. but a seller on ebay is selling the phone and he/she has received 2 positive feedbacks on the phone he has sold, so does that mean he has the phone and the buyers have received the phones? here is his feedback page:

I would call my CC company and see if you can disallow any charges from them. Tell them what they are trying to pull, they'll stop it. What a bunch of idiots.

Status regarding Denmark:

Mail from Telmore: They do not know when the device will arrive. Rest of the mail was about something else!

mail from Callme: No definite date, but probably end of November. They'll make preordering available once the date is set.

And Telia has now got the device listed and estimated date is 24. nov.

http://tinyurl.com/y9strnn

Haven't been checking on unlocked phones. But anyone else from Denmark got something else/new?

oh the misery >_>

That isn't really a mess, your just unlucky that you cancelled when the authorisation had already happened.

But I'm surprised:

1) The shop won't simply cancel and refund the order - I guess their ordering system isn't good enough (v. strange). (you could try ringing again and speak to someone else)
2) You are cancelling the order when it is this close, it is going to be worth the pain I feel.

I think that means Nokia USA's preorders will likely ship on monday or tuesday to the customers. Assuming that this works the same way in USA and Europe.

Finnish Nokia Online Shop charged credit cards on Friday and sent lists of paid preorders to the warehouses in Netherlands. Preorder shipments started after that on Friday and continues on Monday.

its already been charged and I used a bank card so its not able to stop payment. ill just accept it and cancel my amazon order. just cant understand how they charge different prices between online stores and thier flagship stores.
