Ok, I've already decided. I want to buy a Jolla 1. Does anyone sell one?
I will follow your advice and I will discard the Jolla C and the Intex. I have seen some announcement of the Jolla 1, but I found it expensive.
Does anyone sell a Jolla 1? Thank you. |

Why a Jolla 1? It's terribly outdated hw.
Get a Sony XPeria X and a SFOSX license instead (other people outside of the expected selling area have been able to activate them). |

1. He/she/it already has an Xperia X 2. He/she/it would prefer something with a better support that Xperia X In fact, I can think of a lot of other reasons: 3. Xperia X is waaaaaay too large 4. He/she/it would prefer most, if not, of his/her/its money to go to Jolla rather than Sony 5. He/she/it is feeling nostalgic for older tech 6. He/she/it would like to freely swap SIM cards between phones and Xperia X makes it unnecessarily difficult with an incompatible SIM size 7. ... Do I need to go on? :D |

7. One of the reasons is also that it is easier to find batteries for Jolla 1 and that the Jolla C is very difficult to find (and no batteries are found).

8. It's Jolla's first phone!

In case you want to use android apps on the device, I'd recommend not to get the Jolla 1 at this point. The last times I used those, it was a bit of a pain, because they were killed before even loading properly (not enough RAM). Could have something to do with play services installed on the device I used, though, so YMMV.
Otherwise: Of all Jolla 1 I've used in the past, most defects (apart from batteries losing contact, which can be fixed with some tape) were either in the screen (discolourations and/or dead pixels) or with the vibration motor (can be replaced easily with a really cheap one from ebay for a few pennies – someone from here send me one of his spare ones, because they usually sell in batches). So I'd recommend to get sharp pictures of the powered-on device if you find a used one. cheers! |

As per your thread title ...
Are you really really REALLY sure you are sure? I think you may still be waffling ... Screw the ancient outdated first Jolla phone ... Get something cool, hip, current and so "now" I suggest a Nokia N810 :D |

The Jolla 1 would be a second hand and therefore Jolla already got their money and wouldn't benefit from this sale. On the other hand if you buy an Xperia x you'll send €40-50 Jollas way when buying the license for SFOS. |

That may have accidentally and inadvertently been me during my glam 80's Wall Street days filled with screams of "buy!" , "sell!" , loud clothes with wide shoulders, and too much cocaine and bought ladies...
Of course it is also possible I never did any of that during the 80's .. Just saw too many movies ... And am currently suffering memory issues from all the food packaged in aluminum I have eaten in my lifetime... |
