Protecting my Nokia N800
Hi everyone,
Anyone knows of a good supplier of cases and screen films for my Nokia N800, preferably in Europe? Thanks! |

Re: Protecting my Nokia N800
I just bought a Nintendo DS case for $8 at Wal-Mart, works pretty good and has room for accessories, although it is a tad bigger than i wanted it works pretty well, I think I saw someone else on here mention using one thats why I looked into it...

I bought a 3-pack in january. The first one is still on my N800 -- without a mark on it. Not a single problem with reduced visibility or touchscreen sensitivity; actually, it improves the N800's screen, by reducing its reflectiveness. I find the visiblity in daylight better with the protector on than without; it's still not great, but better... I realize they're not the cheapest floozie on the block:rolleyes:, but they're really worth the extra euro. Obviously, if you don't understand German, you're in for a treat... :D |

@Belder & Jwhelan: Thanks a lot for the info, I will certainly find something there.
@Karel: Danke sehr! |

The only minor problem is that the protector is slightly smaller (less than 1mm anyway) than the screen, so I can see where the protector ends. Probably making it the exact size would make it more difficult to apply. |
Re: Protecting my Nokia N800
The other day I was looking around the mart for a DS Lite case to fit my N800, but I those that I saw seemed both a little shabby and, as mentioned, a bit oversized.
Then I happened to come across a display stand for GPS navigators (TomTom, Garmin etc.), and don't you know, these expensive toys also have their own market for protective cases... Most are too small or too big, but there is one from Case Logic (model name "GPS1") that is just *exactly* the right size - looks like it was made to fit ! It's a bit more expensive than the DS pouches (like 15€ instead of 10 here), but Case Logic makes good stuff. This one has much better finish, looks sturdy and likely offers far better protection. |

Hi, I just bought this case for my N800 and love it. It just arrived yesterday and it's perfect. Here's the link:

First the case itself next to the tablet (sorry for the blur :-). Next, the tablet inside the case, for size. :-). There is a net pouch in the lid for accessories, I keep my USB-to-charge-tip cable in there. Finally, here is how I actually use it. There is an elastic belt in the lower part of the case ; the problem is, if I put the naked N800 inside it, there's too much slack and it jiggles. But if I put it inside the "sock" first, it's a tight fit and hard to get it out again. So what i do is leave the "sock" as a mat at the bottom of the case, and just slide the tablet beneath the elastic band, screen down against the sock. This way it doesn't move at all, the screen is well protected, and it comes out easily. A good fit ! |

I'd thank you for the pics, but your first pic is so wide that it pushes the Thanks button off the screen. ;)
