Nokia N800(810) ART!

I figure I would start a thread, if there isn't one already, where people could discuss and/or post art they have made on the n800 or 810. So here is a couple simple pieces made with xournal. I loaded the photos as backround images and then did some sketching on top! Actually with the self portrait I took the photo I used with the n800's camera. I just wish I could jump between layers! Does someone know how to do this!

I have tried kde but krita wouldn't launch :( I have a bunch of things that are going wrong with my n800, software wise, that I don't feel like rolling up my sleeves and digging into just yet. Do you know of an app that can reduce the brightness and contrast of photos on the n800? That would be a big help! Also, it looks like you had some fun with that sketch! Did you try Airx and gimp yet? I have to read up on how in the hell Airx works! |

Well I am going to keep this thread going damn it, even if I have to post replies to myself!
I found that KDE's basic paint program allowed me to adjust brightness and contrast on photos. This could be a work around. Boot into KDE, adjust the photos you want to use in xournal, then shut down KDE and load the photos into xournal. It would be better if you could just paste the photo into a layer in xournal (or some other more appropriate app :) then dim the layer's transparency to half or so, and work right in the native maemo enviorment but alas this, as I can see, can't be accomplished....yet. But...there is still one problem, KDE didn't allow me to save my dimmed images to mmc...thinking back, I don't think I even got a chance to load them, it wouldn't let me do that either. So, while you feasibly COULD adjust brightness and contrast in KDE, you can't load or save them? Anyone have that problem or figure it out yet? |

I'm a graphic designer but I only tried a little sketching with the sketch program. Faint is too slow and cluttered for direct artwork on my N800.
I still think the tablet & stylus would make a great, handheld sketching device. But I'm still looking for a fast, simple intuitive program where you could mix, apply and blend colors naturally. Horizon looks promising, but I no longer have my 770. |
