Mediaserv being strange/not working
I've got it running on Ubuntu Hardy, but whenever I load the server it adds a '-desktop.local' at the end of the server IP:
Code:
$ mediaserv |
Re: Mediaserv being strange/not working
Okay, I figured it out. There was another option for 'URL' in the config. Just had to set that, works great now. So if anybody else has that problem, that's what to do!

Re: Mediaserv being strange/not working
I tried to run media serv and all seemd to be running well until I tried to load a video. MediaPlayer said codec not supported and the transcoded file had been named with a .mp4.avi extension.

Re: Mediaserv being strange/not working
That's odd... Have you tried any other videos? Does mencoder launch and do its thing on your desktop? How are you accessing the server.. via web?
|
Re: Mediaserv being strange/not working
I access the server via the web. As far as I know mencode, et al is running. I am not seeing anything on my desktop though. I have mplayer/mencoder installed on the desktop as thats what i primarily use for video.
When I start mediaserv it says it cannot find 770-encode in (paths) (I use tablet encode) the starts with the rest of the regular script. |

Re: Mediaserv being strange/not working
Maybe its my Compile? I am compiling it on openSuse and using the script generated in the /src directory under the /mediaserv directory the tar file creates.

Re: Mediaserv being strange/not working
Ahh.. yes, it could be. I've just been using the precompiled binary. It seems to run fine even though I'm running 64-bit Hardy.
I'm a wuss, I tend to go for the binaries first and then compile src if that doesn't work. |
Re: Mediaserv being strange/not working
problem is that openSuse doesn't handle .debs very well, so I had to compile. Its a simple enough app that I thought it'd be fine... lol

Re: Mediaserv being strange/not working
Hmm.. I wasn't aware there were any .debs... This is where I dl'd mediaserv/tablet-encode: https://garage.maemo.org/frs/?group_id=455
The bins are in the tar.gz's. Edit: upon closer inspection, they actually appear scripts... not sure what you compiled |
