Soccer/Football App?
 
I would love to see such an application for Maemo 5/N900.
Android has a great app called FotMob that streams live Scores and live match status for all football games around Europe, including local leagues and champions league. It even has a video option to stream the goal highlights from youtube.

Anyone heard of development plans for such an app ?

Really sorry to leave my iPhone for the N900 - and miss out on live scores... And I know that the N900 browser sports a great interface - but sometimes a dedicated app or widget is a better choice :)

Couldn't it be done with RSS feeds from a sports news site? At least for the UK you could use the BBC for clips as well

RSS might do it some of the way... But a dedicated app/widget would be really nice :)

It shouldn't be too hard to do. I'm guessing that app is just scraping some football website. Combined with RSS for news and maybe a combo to pull the youtube links. Get in touch with them maybe they'd be interested in porting it.

Agreed. Live updates would be brilliant... even better if it can list scores and scorers..perhaps like a ticker as well?

Obviously this can be expanded to other sports like NFL, NBA, Golf, Tennis, etc

I am glad to see demand for such an app.

As previously stated the Browser can handle everything. But a specifically designed app will be more handy :)
