N900, full screen Apps and Flash performance

I have been watching video demos of game emulators and all seem to show the N900 status bar at the top. Is this a multi-task issue or just an option issue with the apps?

I also have yet to see a video of Flash game performance or if they play in full screen like the Archos 5 (last years version) does.

Any links that shows actual Flash content performance besides the brief Nokia demo or video content sites?

Any current users have experience going to Flash content sites besides Wave or video sites?

Well could you try to go into different flash game websites and try some "heavy" flash games??? And can you try Megavideo, hulu.. etc?

If you could report back using those that would be awesome.. :D

Some of the motherload sites like Addictinggames.com, which have tons of Flash games. Popcap games is another site.

If those work well, we will be doing fine for a while.

It would be cool if there is a way to save the swf files like you can in Firefox. Then we can play them offline :)

Well flash is also slow since it utilizes the CPU for playback on Linux systems. Flash 10 remedies that by moving flash to a dedicated video processor (e.g. a video card if your using a desktop or the DSP that takes care of video processing for the n900). It use to be that flash video sites like Hulu could bring a dual core CPU to its knees before flash 10 came to Linux.

This makes sense, since Adobe said at the Nokia summit 10.1 needs a DSP for full desk-top experience. Some games must play well though since some do on the Archos 5 with Flash 8.

Sounds like we will be waiting until about June before Flash content including games sites or other apps will be more playable.

Still, maybe some are now, so nice to have practical perspective from current users.

Addictinggames.com is a good site to test since they have "light" and heavy Flash apps.

In some form or fashion, yes, but no answers. The hope is after the 300 users have had their devices they have actually gotten around to testing how well it really performs for other than video and Wave.

In regards to games, the point about a lack of them has been supplemented by the assumption we can go to Flash content sites, yet no confirmation any of them work very well on the N900.

My other question was about emulators, since all of the examples I have seen show the N900 status bar. I am hoping this is just an option and we can have full screen.

On another subject- Are you going to make a camera app for the N900 :)

Depends how good the camera app is with the device - sounds like it is missing a few things I may want. That being said a lot also depends on the ability to access the camera hardware through QT. I a pretty much going all QT with my learning process since it seems to be the future.
