Is the n900 capable of DS game sharing?
i have a ds and love the game big brain acamedy. it allows you to play against someone with a ds even if they dont have the game. Is the n900 capable of this on blue tooth wifi.

Re: Is the n900 capable of?
I dont know!
That needs to be tested. Would you mind to change the title of your thread to something like, "Maemo5 support of DS game sharing?", please?! |
Re: Is the n900 capable of?
There is no Nintendo DS emulator for the N900 and you probably won't see one in the near future. (If that is what you are asking...) See http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=34526
If you are just asking about game sharing over wifi in general, I guess you can certainly share deb-files or the flash files or whatever (just as with a desktop PC) |
Re: Is the n900 capable of?
Another vote for chaning the title. Thanks.
IIRC, the DS's wifi radio has two modes of operation: one mode where it behaves like regular wifi, and one mode that it uses for low power conenctions to another DS. I think the second mode takes advantage of DS-specific hardware. (This is all AFAIK) I'd love to be proven wrong though, and I'd love an app compatible with picto chat. :> -John |

Re: Is the n900 capable of DS game sharing?
It would only be possible if a full-blown DS emulator with game sharing was ported (I suppose you could create an emu/app that only boots into the DS load screen thing and accesses the game sharing, but that seems silly).
The other thing is gamesharing might not be fully emulated (or not at all). I doubt its high on the list of features to support for anyone working on an emulator. |
Re: Is the n900 capable of DS game sharing?
Another issue would be screen orientation for games that don't use a stylus/dpad control scheme since portrait is the logical orientation for the dual screens.
