Chess (or Game )Clock

I was wondering if anyone could try for a chess clock, for maemo

a simple layout shoud do, for the actual clock, the screen divided in 2, each side with a clock timer. Tapping on either of this sides starts the timer on the other side, as this clocks do.

When time runs out on one of the sides, it shows a flag on that half, sounds should be optional, for the tapping and the time over.

plus a settings screen, wikipedia has the most common things these clocks do.

Would love to see someone trying to do this, i am a chess enthusiast and a portable clock would be very very nice. I can give a hand as to how an actual clock works. It can be used for other things oher than chess, too. Most 2 player games can use it.

I made a very crude pic, for an idea as to how it would work.

Though it's for Symbian OS, I found this one that looked really nice. :)

Has anybody tried installing xboard, Jin or eboard?

Jin is written in Java.

I think there is a thread with xboard and eboard. I liked eboard, but for fast chess on the go I prefer my netbook.
Jin shouldn't run, if its Java.
Anyhow this is more real life meets tablet material XD

eliagp, the less you rely on hardware buttons the easier that will be having your app running in different devices.

Feel free adding this thread at http://wiki.maemo.org/Chess

There is also the Idea to implement a chess clock function into Miniature (a QT based community project for maemo5) in the wiki. Please feel free to add your ideas.

Better than nothing I suppose...

It isn't anywhere near the ideal solution, but perhaps you can use the default phone clock as the second one? ;)

But you need 2 clocks in one screen, one starting after the other one is stopped...

That's why I said it isn't the ideal solution. ;)

On the egg app I think you can pause the clock, and then you can compare it to the default clock on the N900. I know, it might take more time to calcule the difference than play an entire bullet game, but still, it's better than nothing (or is it?).
