How many people abandoned their PCs browser in favour of N900?

I used to use the browser about 50% PC/50% N95 in my spare time. Now I do about 30% PC/70% N900. I have to say that the browser on the N900 is a killer. I plan to port Midnight Commander to the N900 so that my 70% can become 80%.

Maybe my percents are not that much on the N900 side, but definitely I'm using mobile browsing way more than before. No more nagging for sitting too much in front of laptop, subject has changed...

As much as I like the N900 browser, there's something about viewing a website on a 17 Inch laptop that I just can't give up. :D

Yeah, the n900's browser is fantastic, but you're lying to yourself if you think it remotely compares to firefox/chrome with a full size keyboard, a mouse, and a 20 inch monitor.

It hasn't cut into my desktop time very much, but I -never- use my laptop anymore, and it means I don't have to run back to my desktop whenever I need to do anything, or even get out of bed :D

When more add-ons become available, I don't think that a lot of users would have a problem with such a browsing shift - for small and medium time periods at least.

I do think that anything beyond a medium browsing session, or a session where some type of productivity is being tried would tax the user a bit much - either to the point of redesigning the browser (engine, interface, available extensions, etc.) or just the user moving to a larger-screened (size) mobile device.

*side note: I wonder why Fennec's extensions aren't cross compatible with microB

Sooner or later, the mobile web experience will overtake the desktop. Then we'll see a long-overdue revolution in site design.

I don't think I'm spending less time on the pc or laptop. But I'm certainly spending more time browsing on the phone than I ever did before, especially in the wee small hours. In fact, n900 has cured my insomnia: instead of lying awake worrying about stuff, getting tense and not being able to go back to sleep, I spend half an hour checking email/twitter, browsing and maybe playing a game or two, then roll over and sleep.

N900 - better than zopiclone.
