Custom funtion for the camera button?
 

Hi,

Is there an app or something that can let me change the function of the camera button when in standyby mode?

I know there's an 'alt + tab' app, but I want it to open the 'Phone' when in standby.

there is but it is in either Extra-testing or Extra-Devel.

These 2 repositories are very dangerous for beginners and if you're not sure with what you are doing. It apps in there some have the potential of bricking your device or ruin the performance of the OS and you can fix it by reflashing. My advise is stay away unless you want to give it a try. But do not blame people here. Because the apps there are for testing in Testing repository and under developing in Devel Repo.

But in Testing repo is safer than Devel repo. I personally use both lol. Well nothing can go wrong if you read the description carefully and ask question here.

programm shortcurtd in extras-testing lets you configure camera button and proximity sensor to your needs. works good. i have the taskmanager attached to camera fokus button.

I've already installed a few apps from the Extra-Dev area so I'm OK with the risk.


Hang on, wait I can't change the function with that app can I? It's just task manager?

If shortcutd works for you, please vote for proximityd which is a dependency. Then we can push it to extras (we want to have stable release before getting to new features).

Do check your rootfs space. The apps inside the Devel repo may not be optified and using up all your root space. This will lead to system update failure or program crashes

I think the prox sensor bit is good in theory, but I can see it just getting in the way if you want to access the menu.

This is of course if you don't have the prox sensor set to 'menu'.

Done :) Shortcutd is lovely - no more opening the keyboard just to go back a page. I use the proximity instead. :)
