I CANT install apps (imposible install...) on N900
 

Hi every one , im Nico , from argentina , i have a big problem with my N900.
i bouht this phone used ,but is like new..
well the problem is , when i want to install and apps, the apps download , the phone installing ,but suddenly ,stop it and says "unable to install".
this happens with all most apps, but with some one not, like voice recorder.
how can i fixed?...
please i ned your help im new, very new in the world of maemo,n900,linuxs..

i have this as well. you will have to use a terminal as root and type 'apt-get install program_name'

It's not normal to have to install from a terminal. If I got a N900 like that, I would start by reflashing.

Can you please provide exact steps, click by click, how you try to install something?

Niko: It appears that you can get flashing instructions in espanol for the N900

The Argentina site didn't have N900 information, but the Spain site did.

Hi andre klapper ,the steps when i install apps, are correct, i thing...
the steps are:
app.manager-download-i choice the category that i want to download, and click (for example ) in flash light- install, i understand and agree-continue, download application, install aplication-and sudenly unable to install "flashlight".


i went to root mode, and clean the memory , i did re install firmware is the same that reflashing the cellphone?

install new firmare, is the same that reflashing?...
i dont understand , why i cant install some apps and other´s apps yes, i can.
in mode root, can i do something for fix´s this problem?

Tap the title bar and open the Log section, what do the last few lines show?
Edit: well they might not be a few, open App Manager, let it open up properly, get to flashlight, before you click it click the title bar, open the log and clear it, then try to install flashlight, you will get the error, open the log again and paste what it says.

hi mohammad ,i cant clear log in the title bar of the aplication.
in log says this:

hildon-application-manager 2.2.52.2

do you think that is better to flashing the n900 with maemo flasher 3.5? i download all the necesary for flashing, but nobody tell me ,if it the seem result flashing with maemo flasher 3.5 or re install the firmware is the seem? or is diferent result?
