PR1.2 - All conversations lost!
I've just upgraded my N900 to PR1.2 (version is now 3.2010.02-8.203.1). Almost everything went fine, except all my conversations have been lost!
When I load up the conversations app, it's empty and shows "No Conversations". I've received a couple of SMS's, these showed up in the yellow alerts and I could view them, but now I've closed the windows they're not showing up either in the conversations app. Anyone know how to get the conversations app to show both my old and new SMSs after the upgrade? How did you upgrade?

Re: PR1.2 - All conversations lost!
The Application Manager informed me that there was a maemo upgrade available. I then fired up a root shell and did a "apt-get dist-upgrade" so I could see what it was up to

Try reboot.

Mine disappeared as well. I had backed them up, but chickened out during restoring them as it seemed to be taking an age to "Finalise" at 99%.

Re: PR1.2 - All conversations lost!
Have tried rebooting a couple of times, alas it doesn't help
I've tried sending myself a SMS, that turns up, but the conversations app still claims there are "No Conversations", neither the sent nor the received version show up in it |

Re: PR1.2 - All conversations lost!
can you look in your /home/user/.rtcom-eventlogger directory.
Code:
ls -l /home/user/.rtcom-eventlogger |
Re: PR1.2 - All conversations lost!
Have taken a look in the .rtcom-eventlogger directory, and there is el.db, el.db-journal (empty), el-v1.db and el-v1.db-journal (empty)
I've copied these files to my laptop, and taken a look. Both the .db files are valid sqlite3 databases. Looking inside them, they both seem to have all the events one would expect in them (texts received, texts sent, missed calls etc) Could it be something simple like the format of the database has changed, and for some reason the upgrade didn't add new columns/tables to the database? |
