i was trying to install but it gave an error, wget missing...

apt-get install wget
in the X-terminal should do install wget. You might have to be root to do it.

I just installed the widget and it's unclear how to change the settings or change anything at all.

A re-boot was needed for the widget to appear but we'll have to wait for a game to kick off before we can see how it works.

The download link on the website doesn't work for me. It just refreshes the page

I'd personally only bother with this app if it had gone through the required development and testing process within the maemo community
