new to N900
 

I'm really a newbie when it comes to the N900 and maemo 5. I saw a video of a N900 playing mario. How do I do that? What apps should I place in my N900 and how do I get them?

and google for "Super Mario Advance for GBA" for a method to acquire a *legal* copy of the ROM. *wink*

those games use emulators to play the ROMS. You have to install some of the emulators from the extras, testing or devs repositories. a quick search of the threads will give you the info you need.

after I install the ROMs, where can i find the games? are the roms also found in the application download in N900?

emulators = software that plays roms (what you install)
ROMs = the games

you can use google to find ROMs for specific games (that you own already, ofc)

I installed the vgba, tried the pokemon, and it works. Is there a snes emulator or just the NES?

yes, there is. it's called Dr.nok snes or something along those lines.

check the extras-devel/testting for emulators...

almost all existing consoles up to the ps1 era has an emulator can be found there...

thanks! got the vgba and DrNokSnes. i can't find the PS1 emu in the apps download. if i download it from the extras-devel, where will I put it in my N900?
