osso-backup, but that just launches the GUI. I don't know if it's possible to initiate a backup from the command-line.

yes, it only launches the program, but i need a command that initiates the backup.

or otherway, is it possible to schedule backups on n900?

You could use SCP to copy the files to a remote SSH server.

scp / user@server

Should copy the whole device over the network.

mmm... i am searching for something simpler. the backup program that already is on the phone is ok. i just want to know how to schedule a periodical backup, or if is it possible to launch the operation (not only the program) by terminal, so i could schedule it with the program "alarmed".

Maybe it'd be good to install Easy Debian, and then backup using cpio or tar...

Schedule a backup

hi
does anybody know how to schedule a phone backup (with the built-in application, osso-backup) on the memory card in nokia n900?

Re: Schedule a backup

what i did was have the phone autoconnect to my home server via wifi when i'm at home, and have the server synch up all the folders in the phone with the folders on the server nightly. you need to setup the phone where the homeserver can see it as a mapped network drive for this to work hope this helps
