Sygic Mobile Maps 10 does not install

I tried to update Sygic 10 something went horribly wrong because the installation will fail.
I studied the matter a bit and I came to the conclusion that the directory "Voices" contains the contaminated files.
Directory or file can not be removed PC/N900 file management. Indicate that the rights are not enough.
What can I do?

have you completely removed sygic 9? or is sygic 10 your first sygic installation?

Re: Sygic Mobile Maps 10 does not install

Remove the old directories manually before installing it,
That includes at least: Drive, Res, Maps ( voices is inside Res )

The old sygic 9 needs to be removed first aswell.

If you cannot do it from the file manager, open the X-Terminal and type

~$ cd MyDocs
~/MyDocs$ rm -r Drive Res Maps
~/MyDocs$

( the stuff before and including the $ is the prompt, not what you type )

Re: Sygic Mobile Maps 10 does not install

I removed the old Sygic 9 and I tried to remove Res, Voices, Maps and directory.
But I'm unable to remove the whole directory Res.
A couple of the directory and files are protected by Voices in the directory.
When I look at X Terminal this directory there is only confusing for the directories and files.

I tried this.

For example: rm: Can not remove 'Res/Voices/chinese_woman/info2.ini': Read-only file system

Re: Sygic Mobile Maps 10 does not install

How can I get modified directories and file permissions?

Re: Sygic Mobile Maps 10 does not install

Attach it via USB to a computer (as a MSC device, not PC suite) and clear the folders off it. Not sure if you've tried that but it's certainly how I updated it and I had the same issue as you as recently as Friday night...

Re: Sygic Mobile Maps 10 does not install

I tried to change the Res directory permissions:
~ / MyDocs $ chmod 0777 Res
chmod: Res: Read-only file system

Has now gone to a really badly wrong?
Since the Sygic 10 logo will be displayed in the applications list.
But it does not appear in the list of Application Management.

Re: Sygic Mobile Maps 10 does not install

You are not inside MyDocs,
first: cd MyDocs, then do what i wrote above.
Please dont mess with chmod, you could only **** up things.

Then, if the same error shows, you need to restart. If that does not fix things you need to either find someone who knows linux a little or bring it to Nokia CS.

What tom047 wrote for you is equivalent to my Shell commands. Whatever works for you..
