Re: Sony Ericsson liveview and Maemo?
They speak about compatibility with Android devices.
Perhaps an iPod nano 6th generation is a better choice? I could send information to the display with RDS Radio. |
Re: Sony Ericsson liveview and Maemo?
Its just a bluetooth headset with extra functionality. So theoretically it should work with ANY Bluetooth Stereo A2DP enabled device :)

I can confirm, that the SE Live view does NOT work with maemo a.t.m. i have 'openwatch' installed which is trying to establish a connection, but fails... Has anyone got news? |
Re: Sony Ericsson liveview and Maemo?

Re: Sony Ericsson liveview and Maemo?
Hi all :-)
i bought one \o/ an i try the Andrew de Quincey's reimplementation of the protocol used by liveview. it run with n900 and n810 because of use of python. how i do : 1 ) firmware update of liveview, because it's a very buggy device. after firmware update, it more usable. (of course, you must go to www.sony-ericsson.com/support to do that) 2) downloading the files here : http://code.google.com/p/adqmisc/sou...unk%2Fliveview (the LiveViewServer. py, LiveViewMessages.py and 2 png) 3) running : you must add the bt mac of your n810/n900 in the file LiveViewServer. py, after pairing liveview with your nokia, run : # python LiveViewServer. py then try to push the right button and you will see the test menus, and left button to see watch. You must know that as ElMarikon said, it's just the structure, to demonstrate how to use menu and item with python. i know anything about python, then i can't do more (i would like...). We need of someone who know well python (and n900/n810) to wrote something "user friendly". and last thing : sorry for my bad english......:p |
Re: Sony Ericsson liveview and Maemo?
Just ordered one of these as I will be getting an Android phone soon anyway.
In the meantime I will have a tinker with these Python scripts as it sounds like it shouldn't be too hard to at least get control of the media player working. |
Re: Sony Ericsson liveview and Maemo?
Not a good start, did a full charge and the battery drained completely in only a few hours despite claiming 96 hours of use on the box.
I wonder if perhaps the Python code is probing too frequently preventing power saving from operating? |
