Can the N900 be pushed past 1150MHz?
Well can it? Can the ARM Cortex A-8 be pushed pasted 1150MHz?
(Not that I want to do it, well I kind of do, but I am more curious if it is possible.) |

Why don't you try it and then let us know?
A question that only you could answer :) |

Edit the frequency config file and power setting will gives you more OC :) do it at your own risk.

Yes. It can run faster. It's just a bunch of transitors after all. You just have to be lucky to have a good sample in your N900. Lehto has managed to boot at 1220Mhz on his N900 on a really cold day. But it was unstable. Not sure if he tried pushing more voltage into it. But we still have many unknown variables so it's difficult to know why it's becoming unstable. (affect on heat, DSP, GPU etc)

mine is unstable @1100mhz.......reboot, reboot, reboot and "an unexpected reboot has occurred, your kernel settings where not loaded!"

I think the 1.15ghz limit is hard-coded in Titan's kernel. In order to get around that, you've got to compile your own kernel with that limkit removed.
As far as actually making it run above that speed.. Possible, depending on sample, temperature and voltage. |
