Hello QUAKE3+URBAN TERROR

TUTORIAL





tutorial all steps

1-first quake 3 install

install ioquake and rootsh 1.8

download this file

have baseq3 folder put in n900 root ,

2-open xterminal

sudo gainroot
mv /home/user/MyDocs/baseq3/* /home/user/ .q3a/baseq3/

wait two minutes

(only move files into q3a folder, home/user/.q3a)

4- now start quake 3 comprobadlo , quake 3 say password , press enter button and enter button and ok

5- play quake 3 and exit game

now URBAN TERROR

extract folder in a desktop pc .

the good folder are q3ut4 .

q3ut4 have two important files
zpak000_assets.pk3 y zpak000.pk3

put in
home/user/.q3a/baseq3/

folder q3ut4 with other files put in
home/user/.q3a/

6- very important

into this folders exist q3config.cfg

search seta com_hunkmegs "64" and change and put seta com_hunkmegs "256"

home/user/.q3a/
home/user/.q3a/baseq3/


notes:

Some useful keys:
Fn (Blue Arrow) + Ctrl/Sym = Open/Close console. and for game write in console /quit
Fn + , (Next to backspace) = Esc (aka Menu)
Space = Jump
Ctrl/Sym = Fire
T = Talk (press enter to come out of this)
Fn + 1 = Weapon 1 (2,3,4,5, etc will change to weapon 2,3,4,5,etc)
A = Side step left
D = Side spep right
Up (On direction keys on the right) = move forward (same as tilting phone forward)
Down (on direction keys on the right) = move backwards (same as tilting phone backwards)

You can customise the above commands to how you want in the options i.e. change side step to the direction keys!



You can use mouse+keyboard with power flasher 46 +h-e-n usb host and for mouse two options

and play with mouse and keyboard i think.


i tried server mode with hotsmode dedicated NO , any stages more fast than other stages


You can play with n900 950mhz minimun or higher

you can try other games

edit new info:

for put bots

into game open console

/bot_enable 1

/reload

/addbot <type> <level> <team> <ping> <nick>

in type you can use bots name

boa
cheetah
chicken
cobra
c ockroach
cougar
goose
mantis
penguin
puma
python
raven
scarab
scorpion
tiger
widow

in level 1 - 5

for example

/addbot leon 4 red 76 =lvl4=leon

for kill bots

/kick <nick> o /kick allbots

I've been reading over their site, and I can't tell if all parts are open sourced, or if they have some of their own closed source stuff on top.

If the client is open sourced, or at least the installer works in debian and you can fulfill all the dependencies, then it should be doable... You might have to manually move **** out of rootfs after install, and symlink, but shouldn't be horribly impossible.

That said, I'm not interested enough in games to make it happen. (If I knew what I was doing more, I'd try to see if I could get it working, but I don't feel skilled enough to think that I could get it working without spending major effort on trying.)

i asked to autor ioquake3 for n900

i am waiting for the response for i know if i can play other maps or games , in n900 ,

urban terror for example because the people lies very much

author ioquake not answer me but i tried more things and it was easy.


i have urban terror 4.1 running in my nokia n900 , i will upload a video tomorrow.

i have a one error when i start a server/demo or other , i am looking it, and it is a classic error .

i tried it and here is the experience :
did exactly as above, i already had quake 3 installed with symlink to MyDocs so i installed the two big files in baseq3 in MyDocs (the 2 files are about 700 MB and thats too much to be in /opt) but the rest of files or folders are about 700 KB , the menu changed from quake 3 to urban terror and the sound was laggy but improved to great and im not OC at all. clicked on start game then loading screen appeared -- took too long -- still waiting -- the screen went black and the phone restarted itself.
i know the samipower said that OC is a must so that maybe the cause
