Photo problem

Every photo I have taken has this hazy view to it. In all light situations, mostly bothered by with flash and low light. I should be able to use this as a regular camera right? I see all the photos posted and not one of mine even comes close. I went from a N85 to the 900 so was expecting the same quality photos.
Also can u add text to photos on phone, or signature for sms
Ty for any response

Re: Photo problem

Also try taking a photo with the back cover off. Sometimes the flash hits a small blue coloured part on the lense cover and reflects back into the camera causing a haze.

Try bless N900 application.

Do not use it low light conditions and avoid flash. Also automatic settings tend to sometimes ruin pictures, remember that shutter button is two-step button with focus.

More about this with search. Bigger number in model name or newer phone doesnīt mean that it has better camera when we are talking about Nokia.

.edit
If you still have time to return your N900 then for quality pics change it to N8 as soon as possible.

I appreciate the response, thought it had same camera as my n85, the pics are with the auto focus too. Same trick applies to n85.
Even outside photos are grainy in macro. How do u all take photos in low light situations, i take a ton of pics at night of friends and such

I donīt. Actually those who have patient enough to learn settings for low light conditions and like to tinker their N900 couple of seconds before taking picture and notice that people have already gone :| Additionally remember to use static objects when taking pics in low light e.g. wall, door frame, lightpole etc.

Havenīt yet got so good picture out of N900 in low light conditions that it justifies pictures technical bad quality. (does that even mean anything? My english seems to be rather random words)

.edit
If taking pictures is the one of most important features of your phone then change to N8. This device is all about tinkering.

Odd enuf, most of my photos are inside, Been reading blogs on low light and trying these options, I still dont know how to reinstall software. I do love the tinkering, why can't we have it all?
The N900 on cnet hey boasted about. Researched photos cause i have a housefull of kids and not always my camera, but my phone is another part of my body

Re: Photo problem

By static I mean that when not using flash and when in low light try to keep device static by using some objects around you. Holding device front of you in air with hands make it wobble quite a bit. An when you press shutter it normally moves a little and you have to be quite careful with that also.

N900 takes amazing photos in good light conditions and in hands of good photographer. Sadly in low light it sucks monkeys balls. Actually IMO most of pocket cameras suck so bad that I normally tend to avoid using non DSLR cameras in low light conditions.

BlessN900 should in extras repository. It can be found with App. Manager. If you need help on installing software then I really suggest that you read manual and do some googling around.

.edit
Also panorama app from Nokia is quite good (IMO 3 pics max. and it doesnīt take huge amount of time). Can be found from Ovi store.
