Skype + Bluetooth + Wi-fi interference issues

I recently started using Skype on N900 and everything was fine till i started using skype with bluetooth Nokia BH-102.

When i make skype calls with bluetooth there is lot of noise and call get disconnects after 30secs.

Everything works fine when bluetooth is turned off.

I have searched all over web including maemo forum, though there is issue mentioned but can't find solution.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks

I wouldn't count on there being a real solution, Wifi and Bluetooth use the same frequency band and share the same aerial in N900. When I get interference problems when listening to music over Bluetooth, switching the Bluetooth off then on again seems to help, but doesn't clear it up completely, my audio always cuts out when connecting to wifi. Maybe switching the Bluetooth off and on again will help enough, I usually manage to listen to internet radio ok, but I've never tried Skype.

Nokia N97 seems doesn't have the problem while using skype calls over BT.

Should it be a Bug with software of N900?

I had this problem since way when in PR1.1
I had a thread about it: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=43043
Since PR 1.3 BT + Wifi has improved to the point where I am able to talk for about 30 minutes without Skype calls dropping.
Also A2DP is flawless as long as I keep the phone on the same side as the earpiece. If it is on the other side, it sometimes cuts out.

Iam also on PR 1.3 but still there is a lot of noise with skype & BT. Sometimes the call starts in the background and i still hear the call ringtone.

Does it something that has to be done with BT i have?
What BT are you using?

Re: Skype + Bluetooth + Wi-fi interference issues

I have 3:
1. Plantronics Voyager Pro: This one is the best. No crackling noises in A2DP and headset profiles.
2. Plantronics Voyager 520: Okay-ish... crackling noises while using the headset profile (making phone calls).
3. Motorola S805: Pretty decent, limited crackling, beautiful A2DP, but a pain to carry around.

Also:
Skype is ... moody: Sometimes, it keeps ringing even though I have already started talking, sometimes there other party cannot hear me.
I first thought it was my headset, but then I found out it didn't work even without the headset.

Re: Skype + Bluetooth + Wi-fi interference issues

Thanks for the list of BT's.

When i am with out BT and using skype..i don't find any problem at all..
9/10 times its good and with BT 10/10 i hear dual tones.

Is this common problem across all the mobiles that uses skype or just nokia n900?

If it is with nokia i am planning to raise a Bug. There is no point in proudly saying that nokia supports skype with issues and that too after PR 1.3.

Not sure if it would help in your case, but it may be worth a try.
You could try going into your router's control panel and changing the Wi-Fi channel. Sometimes if 2 devices are set to the same channel it can cause interference. Changing the channel moves them further apart and eliminates it.
