im going to buy it!
hi, tomorrow i will buy a 770, but i have many doubts
with the hacked edition (SO 2007) it will work as a 800? can i see youtube videos? what things cant see with the navegator? (java, flash) it will be seen as in the computer? can i use the nokia 6021 as modem? what more things can do the 770, movies, music, navegator.... thanks a lot and sorry my english |
Re: im going to buy it!
Why not a n800?

Re: im going to buy it!
The 770 won't get updated flash, like youtube. You'll want to get the n800 if you want to stay up to date.

Re: im going to buy it!
On 770, you'd probably be better off using 2006os and uktube to download and then play (instead of streaming). I dont think the 2007he works well with youtube anyways (doesnt work for me)... and the 800 barely has power to stream videos (drops frames while buffering).
I would recommend get both! The 770 i can take anywhere (and forget im carrying it)... the 800 i can carefully take anywhere (always concious about whats rubbing against screen). Like daily commute vehicle vs weekend car. If you do get the 770 you might prepare yourself for a higher posibility of harware failure... -I- would flash to latest official 2006 version and test full power on and power off several times to make sure you dont get WSOD... if it survives that it will likely survive through a nuclear holocaust. Perhaps once you figure out that you do actually need an 800 you could pick one up then... hopefully for cheaper. If you will be using it mostly around the house and can afford it id say just get an 800 though. |
Re: im going to buy it!
Well, hopefully the N800 will be around a lot longer than the N770 was considering they've already mapped out the next three big firmware/OS updates for it.
Methinks Nokia is going to really cut their teeth on this one before launching another one. But with N770 prices being as low as they are, I think it's a perfect price point for a new user to try out to see if they like the platform before dropping the big bucks on the N800. |
Re: im going to buy it!
but the 800 cost the double that the 700, who i can buy for 150€

With the current price points, you can really test out the form factor/functionality with the N770 for a very small initial investment and if you the decide you MUST have an N800 after, you won't lose much (if anything) on a sale and upgrade. |
Re: im going to buy it!
If you get a 770 and make sure its a good one, i doubt you will regret buying it. At that price its such a good price/performance that it would be hard to think of as wasted.
To truly unlock the 800 you would need to add on some sd cards which would be another $60 - 140. I have 16gigs of storage in my 800 which brings total cost of 800 to around $500... but with that i can store 10 movies of very good quality in addition to around 8 gigs of music with room left over for ebooks, etc. If you think you would be interested in music/video media that much save up for 800. |
Re: im going to buy it!
