Nokia maps (upgrade)
 

Don't know whether someone has noticed this, but I was able to update my current installed maps on my N9...
The new update has deleted my previous installed maps and replaced them with new ones...
With the new update, I almost saved 1G in 'user data' storage (before: 3,8G, now 2,8G)...
Very strange indeed...

How did you update them?

Was it pushed to you or you did something to be able to update them?

Also any version number change?

i think what he trying to say is update on installed data maps, not the installed nokia maps?

Was playing with my N9 last night, then I realised all my maps could be updated (settings/manage maps/check for updates).
All my installed maps could be updated (strange).
I started the download and realized afterwards that my storage went down with 1G... but I did not notice any difference with previous installed maps.

I have a China branded PR 1.3 version.
Map version: 4.2.55
Map data: 0.2.45.12
Don't know my previous map version, but it might be 0.2.46.103.
Does this mean that I had a bug in my N9?

you have higher Maps version, while lower Map data version than me...

my Maps version is at 4.2.55, while map data currently at 0.2.46.103

Sorry, my map version is 4.2.55 (typo mistake), map data still 0.2.45.12.
So does this mean that I got a downgrade instead of an upgrade?

It's possible that you got an update only for map data of one country, so installing it deleted map data for others which you had installed and now you're left with the updated data only. This can be why it shows more free space.

Not likely, but just check to be sure

plugin your N9 to PC, boot up Nokia Suite and click Maps icon to find out =)
