Back with an N9 after 2 years away - advice please

I missed this phone so much so when one came up cheap I had to have one.

The advice I need is this.

What's the best os to use?

I need to use facebook, maps and email. Normal phone functions too, but like most I would like to be able to install apps via the repositories I used to use. I just don't want to start messing about in the standard os to then find out I need/want another.

Cheers,

Wayne.

Harmattan is the one to use.
All other are just proof-of-concept (you may check 'ubiboot') if you like).

Facebook IDK but I guess it is broken.
Email works flawlessly.
Maps is perfect after enabling developer mode and editing two config files (do not have the link at hand but http://talk.maemo.org/msearch.php)

First thing to do is download ancelads n9 repo mirror from openrepos.net and tap on it in download window. This will disable old deprecated Nokia repositories and switch to a mirror.
Second would be to install warehouse from openrepos - the synonym for Nokia store.

More?

Hi :)

for Facebook chat you must add Jabber plugin - that's all :)

All you need is N9 :)

It still my primary phone !

Thank you for the help. Found a backup from my last n9 so have most things working already, even without the Nokia account.

One thing I cant get working is caldav with gmail calendars? Tried everything I can over the last 2 hours and nothing works.

Is there a new server address or os caldav dead on the n9

When trying to install n9 repomirror I keep getting "installation interrupted" and therefore I cant proceed.

Any ideas?

Nope, sorry.
And it seems also ancelad does not know what's going on.
Check
http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=96018&page=5
and possibly give more info
(which firmware,
which country variant,
output of 'ls -lea /etc/apt/sources.list.d/'
output of 'cat /etc/apt/sources.list.d/aegis*'
and steps you did, error messges, ...

Go with browser to openrepos.net and try to install the other versions. For me only version 0.6 is working

Nice to hear.
Welcome back on Harmattan.

What kind of devil did you get rid of?
