Great feature for a new N800

Greetings Everyone:

I think some new Mobile Internet devices are starting to showup on YouTube videos.

On Tuesday another Intel IDF will start.

One feature that would really change the Mobile Internet device would be a small LCD projection feature.

Think about it, you can project your presentation in front of a customer on a wall(3 feet away) in a restaurant, or in the customers office.

Also with an LCD projection feature you can have a better view when you are having a video conference with someone.

At present I know of 2 companies who can intergrate this tiny LCD projection device in a MID.

Battery power would be the main issue, but with time this can be solved.

Does anyone else have an idea of a feature that change MID's.

Regards Robert

Sorry, if I misread you, I am using the Dell Axim X50V with an adapter, 3 yrs ago for my powerpoint talk, it is a geek thing, but not as practical; pros, dont have to carry a laptop; cons, very difficult to control without a IR remote.

Sounds like an extreme power drain, and your device must remain stationary in an uncomfortable position that you will need to carry external control device to use it. At this point it seems like an uncommon convergence trajectory (PDA + projector?) with limited use... then again, who'd have thought phone+camera+gps combo would be that great 5 years ago?

In my opinion a better idea that I have mentioned before is to do what the Toshiba E800 was able to do. It was able to have it's screen be displayed on a projector that has WIFI support. I know the Dell Projectors have an option to add a WIFI card in them. All that is needed is for someone to write the program that would enable the display of the Nokia to be sent over wifi or bluetooth with the supported protocol that the Dell projectors support.

I am not a programmer so I'm not sure of the feasability of this, but with the work that penguinbait, tonymoro and numerous others have accomplished i would not be surprised if someone is able to get this accomplished.

I should probably post this a a feature request to Nokia's development team.

I'd love projection ability from the tablet. One less reason to carry a laptop to meetings.

Projection is a nice idea, but the power consumption is horrendous. You wouldn't last a minute, really. :)

A rather big issue, that one. Smaller, lighter, bigger performance for your gadetry: it's possible and allready done as we speak. But batteries with bigger capacity have been an unresolved problem for years now.

I wouldn't agree on that one either. LED projection is the future, with little power consumption.

So we all sit in a little dark room, peering at a fuzzy picture? Now what does that remind me of?

Oh yeah: ca. 1910 movie theatres! So who's playing the badly tuned piano then?

Using Dan67sf's idea of either Wifi or BT send over a projector should not use a lot of power, right? Or are we talking projecting straight from the 770? I doubt the tiny battery is able to even arc a Xenon bulb!
