First flash ever
What was your first flash ever?
My iPhone was stolen and got an Erickson phone from a friend. But I missed my iPhone. Some googling and doing stuff without understanding anything. Totally out of my comfort zone. But was very proud what I achieved. On my youtube channel/project archive. The text are in finnish so you can skip the beginning. https://youtu.be/3uPSW5MUnm4 Other people had done all the work really. I just downloaded and copypasted and dived into the terminal mode which was really scary. |

Re: First flash ever
I got an Openmoko gifted for Christmas when it came out.
You just had to learn flashing to make use of it, the original system was as free from features as full of bugs. Alternatives showed up with SHR (Stable Hybrid Release) which was quite awesome for its time, but also quite slow. The Openmoko Hardware was the very opposite of powerful, even back then. Now the last commits to the SHR Code are 4 years old. Later I used QtMoko which was more performant and even made the phone somewhat usable as phone. |
Re: First flash ever
This was my first "flash" ever :D

Re: First flash ever
My first flash ever...
hm... 13 years old ... on a dare ... did a whole lap of the high school hallways streakiing naked... actually... does not being old enough to know any better count? If not then I have to discount the next door neighbours backyard wedding ceremony I crashed naked at the age of 3... the wedding was temporarily halted for the entertainment value I provided... so I was told... |
Re: First flash ever
Wow, endso the serial flasher :D
|
Re: First flash ever
haha
Now of course I do all my flashing in the privacy of my home... I flash often... Devices that is...if we are talking about devices... the other flashing I save for the nude beach....mostly... (remember kids...if anyone ever tells you "to grow up, act your age and act responsibly ..." ....don't ever ever listen...you just grow old and miserable...that is why I have kept my svelte figure and youthful looks...and of course I use Oil of Olay...) |

haha
actually oil of old ladies is what we used to call it as kids... |
Re: First flash ever
So it seems flash has some other meanings too... unknown to my pure and innocent finnish conscious. It's like when I told to my friend I had been on a concert with my wife where there were three guys blowing fagots and it sounded so great My friends face was horrified... on a bible college. He as a canadian knew some other meaning for fagot than an instrument.

Re: First flash ever
well....I don't know what kind of canadian you were talking to...
But most here would assume you were talking about cigaretters....since it is common slang for that in britain ..."fags" that is... So I don't understand his horror... For the most part ...Canadians hear so many different slang terms from people here from different parts of the world.. ....he shouldn't have batted an eye...and assumed it was just yet another term for something else... Not necessarily a statement on sexuality. In fact ...here...we have strict laws on harassment, physical or verbal abuses, etc...whether it be based on ethnicity, race, skin colour, language, or sexuality. We do have a small minority of rude people who try to flaunt said laws ...and be abusive, but you would find that in a public setting, folks would be real quick to straighten that individual out, ever before the authorities arrived to complete the job. That is something we have zero tolerance for here... Zero tolerance for the intolerant. |
Re: First flash ever
I'm not just saying this either...
here is a good example of what Canadians really are like... This was a university social experiment that was done with hidden cameras... on groups of people... One person played the victim who is muslim.... One played an intolerant human being. and this was done RIGHT after we had a terrorist shooting in Ottawa...in our Parliament building.. The full film is worth the watch https://www.washingtonpost.com/video...dfd_video.html |
Re: First flash ever
If your Canadian friend was horrified at what you said...
I don't know what to say... Hmmm... How about .... "What I have to say on his behaviour is ...nothing good..." ...that is for sure. Look at it this way Maemish... Canadians see things this way... everyone has the right to be themselves ..as long as it doesn't infringe on others rights. Sexuality being a choice... a fair example is... just because I don't like oysters, doesn't mean that I expect everyone around me to dislike them too... and those that do like oysters do not deserve any negative view or expression of it from me... It is called being a considerate, polite human being. And that seems in short supply in the world at present. |

In fact it is called a "fagot", "fagott" or a variation on the theme in pretty much every language except English. |

Re: First flash ever
For endsormeans:
My story was not against anything. It was just a story where someone got by a misunderstanding an image where he saw in his mind me and my wife watching a sexual act and me telling it sounded great. That was the thing we laughed at after we got common understanding of what I was telling. Just for the record. |
Re: First flash ever
Ah....well...that is a different kettle of bazookas ...
I would imagine anyone would be thrown by imagery of any couple of any orientation ..sitting down and casually watching a sexual act and talking about how great it was to watch... in that illuminating light...my apologies Maemish... |
