I must be insane. I just spent too much money on a factory sealed "new in box" never used N900.
Re-downloaded all the firmware files and flasher utilities. We'll see what I can get this thing to do! |

#1B - So I am guessing that you probably shouldn't tell the wife how much you spent. #2 - Bet the biggest single word going through your mind right now is "Whoopsie!" #3 - (considering the above, ..) Why ...yes...yes indeed, questioning your sanity is valid. 1 thing the n900 will not do ... is spread marmite on your toast for you... (unless you strap a drone with a butter knife to your n900 ...that is...) |

Are you sure this is genuine and not those new china made? There are slight differences on the boxes N900 pictures topography as well as which way the cardboard lines go if I recall correct. There might be a video about the differences on youtube. Fake N900 or something may bring it from search.

I and others here assumed he did his due diligence ..Maemish.
If it is a fake he will shortly notice it when he begins to try to do ...pretty much anything.... at which point ,if the OP then posts vid or photo of its behaviour and output, that will / should verify the n900 authenticity. |

There also hasn't been any new reported fake n900's on youtube for 6 years now.

It's coming from the states. He supplied very good pics of the box and labels. Even of the seal on the box showing it had never been opened. I trust that it's genuine.
I used to have an N900 way back in the day. I'm ready, baby! I can post pics and updates if y'all want :-p |

If it's the same one I saw, I considered getting it a few times. However, my girlfriend reminded me that I have ten N900s, and I had told her I wouldn't buy anymore unless they were "really cheap". |

I have been bitten by the fake.
There was an actually 100% fake N900 with a TV tuner and I think ran midlets for software. The real problem is the real N900 fake new, they refurb a crappy soldered together frankestein of junked N900s. I ordered one or two years ago and the memory chip had crapped out on both in a few weeks. Just remembered I bought one from a formerly well known, but ran off with a good amount of prepay money, TMO member and after months of non-delivery he sent me a Chinese real but refurb within a few weeks and paypal made me re-pay him for it. What a mess. Anyways I recall the sign it is a refurb is the box has no spacebar on the impression of the open N900, just more little keyboard buttons. |

Yet another reason to seek asylum here in Canada ..
:D We are a compassionate and friendly bunch... We feel for those who still need cdma and 2g .. And there are still companies that provide the services... It is odd here in Canada...not sure of the USA... But the more sophisticated and modern the service 4g for instance...isn't country wide..but urban center available...in compare to say ...3 or 2 or ...best is old cdma...you could be in the mountains ..and get it ... Whereas in downtown Vancouver you may struggle in spots for 4g. Sure wicked speeds and service in densely populated, congested traffic jammed mega city nightmares ... I would rather have a snail speed connection ...sitting by a stream out in the country. |

Yes, commercial UE's should be available in Q2 I think.
Then it's just the matter of carriers upgrading their networks which might take some time before there's any serious coverage. |
