I have the books app installed - It just looks at me dumbly with a blank screen saying no books found: [update - solved] Thanks to nthn below 3. Aptoide - where is it: [update - solved] unintsalling the aptoide app and reinstalling seemed to solve the question 4. I receive a call.... with a black blank display. no way to accept. [update - known bug] Thanks to aspergerguy 5. Camera images seem to be 4:3, how does one change the resolution to a 16:9 aspect? [update - solved] Settings > Apps > Camera 6. Here WeGo maps works great, right up until navigation. Loads up, displays maps, knows where i am, can find a location, and plot a route... But as soon as i hit navigate it thinks about, then errors out. Ideas? 7. Openrepos - can see there should be a jolla store app called storeman, but not able to find it. |
Re: Support - Invisible epubs and invisible aptoide?
It says you might need to reboot before the Andriod app sees the doc:

Re: Support - Invisible epubs and invisible aptoide?
the problem lies more towards the fact i don't know how to access aptoide (or aptoide app content), to even be able to install them.
|
Re: Support - Invisible epubs and invisible aptoide?
I've also noticed this problem, on Jolla 1 and Tablet, of Android applications not showing up at all, or if they do show up they don't have any icon. Never managed to fix it, unfortunately. If you installed Aptoide via the Jolla store, you should be able to open it from there, otherwise, good luck, I have no idea.
As for your problem with the books not showing up, you should read its description again, they're supposed to be inside either the Downloads folder or inside Documents/Books: https://openrepos.net/content/slava/books |
Re: Support - Invisible epubs and invisible aptoide?
cheer for ebook tip.
how do you open aptoide (or any app) from the store? |
Re: Support - Invisible epubs and invisible aptoide?
As I said it only works if you installed it that way (actually, to be precise: if it's something that's available in the store, whether you installed it through there or not). You have to go to 'My apps' in the store, tap on the one you need, then use the pulley menu to select 'Open'.

Re: Support - Invisible epubs and invisible aptoide?
pully menu only gives me the option to uninstall...
|
Re: Support - Invisible epubs and invisible aptoide?
I don't have my tablet right now to check, I'll take a look in a couple of days if it works differently for Android applications.

Re: Support - invisible aptoide store and black screen on receiving call?
in addition to questions 3and 4 above, is anyone else having trouble with the store?
no icons, empty category tabs, and occasionally a yellow error message at top. |

Presumably referring to Aptoide Store rather than Jolla Store in all instances? Even though ticking on screen with Android Support to install Aptoide Store during setup, it quite often fails and has to be installed from Jolla Store. |
Re: Support - invisible aptoide store and black screen on receiving call?
thank you.
the aptoide store issue resolved itself after reinstalling the store. |
Re: Support - [solved] four questions about 3.0.1.14 on an XA2 Plus
next Q - camera images seem to be 4:3, how does one change the resolution to a 16:9 aspect?

Yes, you can thank the creeping dissociation of app settings from the app that actually uses them. I mean, you are already in Camera when you want to change the picture size, right? Or in Browser when you want to clear the history. But no, you have to open another application to do such a basic task. When will this truly, truly awful monkeying after Apple finally end? [/rant] |

6. Here WeGo maps works great, right up until navigation.
Loads up, displays maps, knows where i am, can find a location, and plot a route... But as soon as i hit navigate it thinks about, then errors out. Ideas? |

What you say makes it even worse. Following a bad trend is one thing, but making a bad change just for the sake of change is much, much worse. Some changes are good. This is not one of them. |
Re: Support - six questions about 3.0.1.14 on an XA2 Plus - here wego maps - can't navigate
@pichlo
You are absolutely right. And if my memory does serve me well it was Nokia who started with the N9/MeeGo with such dumbness. And Jolla copycatted that instead of system wide copy/paste ;):mad: |

- Have you tried running a native app instead, such as Pure Maps ? I find it not bad at all. The navigation works decently, and the author is responsive here on forums and on the github issue page. - It can even work with off-line maps from OSM Scout Server : you have your very own OpenStreetMaps server running on your smartphone and apps such as PureMaps or Laufhelden don't need to be online to display maps. (Note: a big uSDHC card is recommended. Also, I'm not 100% happy with OSM Scout Server search function, you might decide to configure your Pure Maps to use something else). This won't help you use HERE maps, but it will still work nicely as a we to get *some* maps. ---- Now to got back to your question, there HERE app crashes might be due to some missing Google Play or Google Maps services. e.g.: I needed to steal com.google.android.maps from an official google device, because otherwise an app using geolocalisation kept crashing. Tutorials regarding installing official Google Play, or MicroG opensource replacement might be a source to find how to add missing services Look at that answer to see how to watch the logs of an Android application, and see if there's something meaningful (= an error message that you could copy-paste into Google to find on stackoverflow :-P ) that happens during the crash. That's how I discovered my missing service mentionned above |

how does one get to pure maps?
|
Re: Support - six questions about 3.0.1.14 on an XA2 Plus - here wego maps - can't navigate
It's on Openrepos (Storeman is the only client that works: https://openrepos.net/content/osetr/storeman)

You may have to go to Settings App > Untrusted Software to enable the installation of software from outside the Jolla store

Re: Support - seven questions about 3.0.1.14 on an XA2 Plus - how does one access OpenRepos?
For clarity you need to download the arm build, the current latest version is here: https://openrepos.net/sites/default/...-2.armv7hl.rpm
Once downloaded, (and having enabled untrusted sources) go to Settings > Transferred files and tap on the file above and it should prompt you to install it. |
