BT keyboard to use
I looked around to find a very tiny bluetooth keyboard to use with N800 since I am leaning over to buy the N800 now at first instead of the N810 since I don`t really need gps and the N800 is not so expencive now. with the OS2008 coming also I would guess the N800 is as good as the N810.
I have found this Brando mini bluetooth keyboard. But wonder if anyone have tried it or know how I could find out if it would work with the N800. My plan is to make a cind of wallet where the keyboard is on one part and the N800 on the other. Then I get the keyboard attached to the N800 in a way that it is possible to use the keyboard when surfing on the sofa. Since laying there with both the N800 and holding the keyboard I am guessing it is not the best solution. Actually the only thing that makes me want the N810 is the HW keyboard.. but I guess the price is not worth the difference. http://www.gizmodo.com/assets/resour...hkeyboard2.jpg |

http://www.brighthand.com/default.asp?newsID=12979 For me, I need a keyboard large enough to touchtype, as I take a lot of notes on my n800. I am using a "Think Outside", which works well except numbers (a Fn key must be pressed). It is about 1.5 cm wider than the n800, but thinner. I have not regretted getting the "Think Outside" I hope this helps, Craig... |

Re: BT keyboard to use
Cvmiller.. Do you use the full size or the tiny one for pda? I looked at the iGo Store and found two types of keyboard. but the compability did not mention N800.

Re: BT keyboard to use
I am also looking BT keyboard for N800. It would be nice if it had those special extra letters we use at Finland/Sweden. ÄÖÅ.

Re: BT keyboard to use
Hmm.. It's a bit difficult to find a combination of HID-capable BT keyboards with layouts for much more than US ASCII and possibly a few more locales. It's easier to find multi-language keyboards with the old serial interface, e.g. the Freedom, but then you'll need to add an extra driver (available from Fanoush' site IIRC) and things are not working as transparently as with the HID-capable keyboards like the iGo.

Re: BT keyboard to use
I got my iGo Stowaway Ultra-Slim today. It works (Im running OS 2007 on N800).
I can also verify that the Apple (aluminum) wireless bluetooth keyboards (which is suprisingly compact but not foldable of course) work, except you dont need to mess with CTRL LEFT-FN RIGHT-FN. The Apple keyboard is beautiful. I have both of these keyboards working nicely: |
Re: BT keyboard to use
Amazon currently has the iGo Stowaway Ultra-Slim Bluetooth Keyboard for around $30.
I bought two. One for backup, one to give to a random friend for X-Mas. Too bad I don't personally know anybody that owns an Internet Tablet, or my choice of recipient would be a no-brainer d-: |
