Cheapest Bluetooth Keyboard?

I'd love to pick up a nice cheap Bluetooth Keyboard, considering I type like 5 words a minute on the N800's Stylus board (too lazy to use the finger board), Whereas on a normal keyboard I type like at least 80.

Anyways, I'd love to find a nice bluetooth keyboard that works with the N800 for about 20$, but I can go higher.

On a side note, Does anyone have a list of keyboards that don't work with the N800?

Another thing to note: I don't care about the size of it. It can be the same size as a normal Desktop keyboard, and I wouldn't care. Doesn't have to be foldable, either.

I'm with you.
This 2004 review can't be the latest. Stowaway has been a name I trusted in the pocketPC world. But I would be shocked to hear they hadn't done anything new/better recently.
http://www.mobiletechreview.com/tips...h_Keyboard.htm

I'm trying to move from a pocketPC world (with MS owning that space) to a more open/better device/bluetooth world.

The N800 is the device, as far as I can see. Are there now better accessories? Or does the mainstream pocketPC (winCE/whatever it is currently called) own the accessory world too.

I suppose they might, since they have raw numbers.

One of the biggest plusses to my wife's Axim, that I bought her 5 (+-) years ago, was that Dell made a keyboard to custom mate to it. It turned it into her personal PC. I'd like my N800 to be the same for me.

picture this: travel 5 hours for a meeting, wearing nothing other than my skin, but when the meeting starts, I pull out 2 devices, one the PC, and the other my keyboard. I could keep notes and mark future work items, like anyone else, but I came without a backpack to carry everything in.

That is my idea of travelling light, and I know from my partial version of this idea that it strikes a chord with many other corporate folks.

Brother,

I got an Apple BT keyboard around 6 months ago. It's sturdy and even though is not flat it works as a charm. I never have to worry to have it on a surface so it won't bend or anyting liuke that. The baterry life it's amazing (4 batteries, should last 6 months) mine has 6 months and have no show of dead battery. I got it on ebay for around 40 dollars, look around, they are an unbeatable deal/

I'd rather not give any money to Apple.

And 79$ is just crazy. I mean why can't they make one thats like 30$?

Oh well, I suppose I'll be trying the USB Keyboard then.

EDIT: On another note, Does anyone know if this would work?

Yes, it works, as mentioned elsewhere in this forum. However, the new Apple BT KB is much slicker, lighter and much easier to travel around. The price is quite good compared to what you have to pay for the popular Stowaway BT KB (including the ultra slim, which is $120).

And if you want a credit card sized keyboard:
http://www.amazon.com/FREEDOM-KEYBOA.../dp/B000TNPCEC

And you might be able to pull this out from somewhere when you are wearing only your skin :)

To quote a recent comment from the Amazon website:

This product was supposed to be blue tooth compatible but had so many bugs in the software it was impossible to make it work with my phone. Coupled with the greatest example fo customer NO SERVICE from their service operation, I think this company should be sent to the scrap heap of tech companies that make junk products.

In order to set up this keyboard, a person needed to download software from their web site. But the software was not where it was supposed to be and, when finally located, didn't work.

Re: Cheapest Bluetooth Keyboard?

There were two comments there, one was moderately favorable
"No problems setting up and using this device out of box with my N800, 8525/phone and other bluetooth devices like my tablet pc.

Only issues were with keyboard mapping and keys present. Would be nice to have arrow keys without having to hold down function key."

The other was not.

On ebay in October I was able to pick up a Think Outside Stowaway Universal Bluetooth Keyboard for $35 (plus $10 shipping.).

Almost half the usual price.

So there are still deals out there.

It's a great unit and I highly reccomend it.

Re: Cheapest Bluetooth Keyboard?

OK Guys, I took the Jump!

I bought an Apple Wireless Pro Keyboard Refurbished from Apple.

Now I'm confused as hell, lol. I go into pair it with the N800, (after turning it on), It recognizes it, But they just can't pair. It gives me a different Passcode every time.

Has anyone else done this? Anybody have a clue what to do?

FYI, just saw the Igo Ultra-Slim Bluetooth keyboard at Amazon.com for 29.99 shipped no taxes....

I have seen this keyboard also named the Dell and Stowaway models.

Re: Cheapest Bluetooth Keyboard?

Yeah, the iGo deal looks like a Black Friday deal (for those outside the US: yesterday was a holiday for us, and the day after that holiday is a huge sales day for stores, where people try to get a ton of christmas present shopping done; the nickname for this shopping day, and its deals, is Black Friday; which would also explain why the sale price isn't available to europe)

Re: Cheapest Bluetooth Keyboard?

Combine that with the $200 N800 at
buy.com and you have a kick butt combo.
