DopeWars 1.5.12
I compiled it and its working great, you can play on other servers on the internet it will populate a list to connect to. There are some real high scores out there.
Pretty cool, I know this has already been done, I does not do full screen because I did not port it. I assume this will run anywhere, but I can only confim 2008OS is working for me. I compiled this to run under KDE but it works good with hildon/matchbox. So pehaps someone can turn this into a deb? http://penguinbait.com/DW.tgz cd / tar zxvf /path/to/DW.tgz Its .5MB gzip'd its 1.2MB uncompressed I added an Icon so it will show up in the menu. Should be easy to create a deb, I am going to have to look into it someday ;) Removal Script remove these files :) ./usr/local/lib/dopewars/libsound_sdl.so ./usr/local/lib/dopewars/libsound_esd.so ./usr/local/share/gnome/apps/Games/dopewars.desktop ./usr/local/share/pixmaps/dopewars-pill.png ./usr/local/share/pixmaps/dopewars-shot.png ./usr/local/share/pixmaps/dopewars-weed.png ./usr/local/share/locale/es_ES/LC_MESSAGES/dopewars.mo ./usr/local/share/locale/fr_CA/LC_MESSAGES/dopewars.mo ./usr/local/share/locale/fr/LC_MESSAGES/dopewars.mo ./usr/local/share/locale/de/LC_MESSAGES/dopewars.mo ./usr/local/share/locale/nn/LC_MESSAGES/dopewars.mo ./usr/local/share/locale/pl/LC_MESSAGES/dopewars.mo ./usr/local/share/locale/pt_BR/LC_MESSAGES/dopewars.mo ./usr/local/share/locale/es/LC_MESSAGES/dopewars.mo ./usr/local/share/dopewars/lose*****.wav ./usr/local/share/dopewars/message.wav ./usr/local/share/dopewars/jet.wav ./usr/local/share/dopewars/train.wav ./usr/local/share/dopewars/die.wav ./usr/local/share/dopewars/colt.wav ./usr/local/share/dopewars/shotdown.wav ./usr/local/share/dopewars/punch.wav ./usr/local/share/dopewars/run.wav ./usr/local/share/dopewars/bye.wav ./usr/local/share/dopewars/murmur.wav ./usr/local/share/dopewars/gun.wav ./usr/local/bin/dopewars ./usr/local/var/dopewars.sco ./usr/share/applications/hildon/dopewars.desktop Could do this also, it'll leave a couple dirs tar tzf DW.tgz | xargs rm |

Re: DopeWars Multiplayer and host
How about a compile and deb for os2006? ;) I would try.. but i think it would result in a Nokia self destruct lol

Did you try, It either wont install, or you should be able to remove it without a problem. It just may work? |
Re: DopeWars Multiplayer and host
Thanks for this port. I have a stupid question though. How exactly does multiplayer help this game? The only difference I've noticed is that the cities are different.

You can actually spy on other players and see what they have, I am not exactly sure how this helps you, but its there :D |
Re: DopeWars Multiplayer and host
I just had a thought - - can you imagine applying to the Nokia developer device program with "I wanna port Dopewars, man..."
:D |

Sorry for the ancient thread revival here, but just found this app and was anxious to install it. It was my favorite game on my US Robotics Pilot!

Re: DopeWars Multiplayer and host
Hi!
is there a possibility to run dopewars on maemo5? I tried to build a package with the soures from debian etch, but there were unmet build dependencies: Code:
dpkg-buildpackage -rfakeroot -b -uc Has anyone a solution? |
Re: DopeWars Multiplayer and host

You could install the SDK and give a go or start a thread with a 10$ paypal bounty, others may pitch it and help out? Try #maemo on freenode IRC and see if anyone is willing to help you out... |
