Re: MapWidget 0.1 and Maptile-loader released
I think you would do yourself a favor if you'd post some more explanation, maybe demo code, screenshots ?

Re: MapWidget 0.1 and Maptile-loader released
Zero details = zero downloads.

Re: MapWidget 0.1 and Maptile-loader released
I write tomorrow more detailed story.

Re: MapWidget 0.1 and Maptile-loader released
I have installed this on my OS2008/N800 and have come to a dead end. It is shown as an Installed Application but does not show up as an app.
So I am bit unsure as to what to do next? |
Re: MapWidget 0.1 and Maptile-loader released
It's most likely a home applet, Reb.

I am sure pjr will come through in a few days time, so I shall keep an eye open for his announcements |
Re: MapWidget 0.1 and Maptile-loader released
Going by the description it is a library (or rather two - a map management backend and a GUI frontend) that facilitate embedding maemo-mapper functionality into other programs - with a soon-to-come demo application.

Re: MapWidget 0.1 and Maptile-loader released
Hi,
Like I promised, here is some more info. MapWidget is meant to use in application that needs map. You can iclude widget in your own programs, source code is in garage. From header file you can find what you do with it. I made also demo program for testing. It is just demo program. How to use MapWidget_demo: 1. Download and install maptile-loader to IT. https://garage.maemo.org/frs/?group_...elease_id=1164 2. Download MapWidget-0.1.tar to IT and extract it. 3. If you want to see some icons, copy pictures to "/usr/share/cityguide/pictures/poi/" directory. 4. run MapWidgetExampleChinook or MapWidgetExampleBora. (run-standalone.sh ./MapWidgetExampleChinook) Maptile-loader starts automaticly when example program starts. Few pics. Start. http://s.o4f.org/~pronkko/demo_start.png MapWidgetExampleChinook: http://s.o4f.org/~pronkko/mw_demo.png You can do as many maps you want:http://s.o4f.org/~pronkko/demo2.png Map WIdget is not anykind of "real" program. Its meant to use with inside other applications. -pr |
Re: MapWidget 0.1 and Maptile-loader released
Much clearer now, thanks.

Re: MapWidget 0.1 and Maptile-loader released
Yes, thanks for the info. It looks way cool.

Re: MapWidget 0.1 and Maptile-loader released
pjr, this is in fact quite close to a function I have envisioned as a feature in an application I'm working on (the feature would be to show a map matching the area the main application is processing). I shall take a closer look at it later!
