HELP! I've lost my stylus!
 

Guys, i've lost the two stylus for my Nokia N800, and I can't find a place to buy a replacement here in.. ARGENTINA!

What can I do? Help me, please! :confused:

Use the spare? All Nokia internet tablets so far came with a spare pen in the box.

OOPS, you already lost that too... Well, check whether any of the Nokia shops caters for South America. Otherwise, you'll have to spot some online shop mailing there - for example, many eBay shops mail world-wide.

The problem is, I can't find any site that sells the stylus, not even a Nokia page.

I don't know what to do :(

Nokia doesn't sell the N800 in Argentina, there are no parts to steal here... :(

Our friend in Germany has give us a site that carry all the spare parts for the N800. I did the search and they sell the spare stylus at 9 Euros, so maybe you can contact him, I don't know if the german shop sell and ship overseas. That's the only source I have found. Hope it helps.

Nokia Europe used to, but they either removed it or misplaced it on their somewhat cryptic online catalog.

They still do them in Europe 3 for £9.39 in UK.

If it does not come up, open the window click UK then close window and reopen link the second time it opens you should have the product.

I couldn't find a way to buy a replacement stylus and I live in the US. I finally was able to find someone in Finland to walk into Nokia's REAL flagship store and buy one and ship it to me in an envelope.

I've only got one of my two original styli left. Unfortunately every link in this thread is out of stock or dead. It's sort of infuriating that Nokia sells millions of N800s but doesn't provide routine replacements for easily lost parts. At least they give you two styli to start with. Hey Helsinki! Wake up or I'll poke you with my last stylus!

That's likely quite an exaggeration. This is very much a niche product, not a volume product like your standard run of the mill Nokia cell phone. Selling millions would put you into iPhone category, with accessories makers coming out the behind. The N800 is not all that popular.

But still, it would be nice to see a little more channel support from Nokia on basic (and very easy to lose) parts. Wisely, they choose to use standard Nokia batteries for these devices (N800 uses the same battery as the E61/E62, N810 uses the same battery as the E61i).

If you've lost both original stylii and can't find a way to get a replacement, then you'll have to settle for something aftermarket that likely won't slot into the hole at the back. Should be easy to find a third party stylus what with the popularity of Windows Mobile and Palm devices over the years.

"Millions" is so much more satisfying when you're fulminating. But okay, many thousands. Nokia, do the right thing...my stylus is now my 11th finger.

Me? I've resorted to putting one wind of flourescent yellow tape around my 'home' stylus and trying to keep it located in the same area of my workspace so I don't easily loose it among my desk crap or in papers or on the floor.

The stylus that's part of PlayThing only is used when I leave the house.

I figure I should be good for about three months before I lose both :D

I try not to use mine when I am out and about - I have one of those cheap BIC 3-in-1 pens that I keep handy instead!

Having lost both of my stylii more than a month ago, I've resorted to using all sorts of things. I've found that most pencils and ball point pens work fine, but the best is an old mechanical pencil with the lead retracted.

A local guy on craigslist said he had an extra one, I've contacted him but with no response yet...

wow. battery cover, front housing, middle housing, even the camera! doesn't look like they sell n800 styli though.

Yes I did. He ended up just mailing me his extra one for free. Nice guy, huh?

The camera isn't even for the N800. Maybe it is the N810 camera?

after i lost my first stylus, i took the backup stylus and drilled a small hole through the indentation at the end, tied the end of a piece of tough sowing thread to it and glued the other end of the thread with epoxy to the top half of the tablet, just above the erphone jack. i'm hanging on to my last stylus by a thread, to coin a phrase.

you only need a piece of wood a knife and and half an hour

I'm not an artist obviously. It's kind of flintstones fashion work

Like in the old cowboy films, there used always to be someone sitting under a tree whittling a piece of wood.

It just seemed to be random paring of a twig with a knife but now there is a purpose and an end result to aim for.

I may figure something out. I'm getting an N800 soon myself. I like to work with my hands and I think people admire handcrafted stuff (I do at least). Hmm.

I've asked before for a nice oak stylus. But it never happened. I would love something handcrafted. Make them, post pictures!

I think you should sell them individually. I'd buy two, but not three.

As would I, my first stylus, well, fell apart last month. A wooden stylus would give the N800 some character :)
