Re: i just gotmy n800
Yes, why would'nt you want the latest operating system - the first thing I did was upgrade mine and I have not looked back...
Look at www.gronmayer.com/it for repositories and the packages they contain. |

I dislike it. The only good thing is more speed, I find the user interface with its ugly front page and huge menus to be unusable. Other people love it. So go to the 2008 forum, and start reading people's impressions of it, then make up your own mind. Zebee |

Re: i just gotmy n800
what exactly can't I do in os2008 that i can do in 2007?
dont just say names of programs that arent compatible, say the abilities they allow u to do, then put the programs names in parenthesis |

Re: i just gotmy n800
Well. As soeone who just got mine last week. Here's my take on the new OS.
1. You can get your apps (dunno about quake) for 2008, and 2008 will connect to windows shared folders. and I like the new ui a little better. And it feels a little more responsive to me than the 2007 version, but that may be my imagination. Mainly, shared folder access was the cincher for me to upgrade, oh, and Gecko as the primary browser. |

Re: i just gotmy n800
OS2008 is better. You can go back to 2007 if you want, but I think it would be dumb.
Before I go into all the differences between 2007 and 2008, I'd like to get your previous experience. Namely, have you used Windows? Which versions? Would you mind listing the programs you used with each version and the advantages they had in each? What version would you recommend and why? The lodestone for installing programs in the N8xx series is at http://gronmayer.com/it/ |
