N810 slider problem

hi all,

anyone had problems with the slider so far? mine doesnt feel tight at both its end positions. there is an approx. 1mm slack at both ends. not really of a problem, just the device doesnt feel right if you know what I mean. would this be reason enough for a return and replacement/repair? any tip/similar experiences much appreciated.

Re: N810 slider problem

it "slack" means that it does not stay firm at both ends, than it looks normal as it also does that to me.

yo thanx for the fast reply. that means that the production line sucks! producing firm sliders is not that hard. and for a 520$ device (taxes and all from nokia) that is simply unacceptable.

No play in mine although I have only had it a week and the kb has been in/out ~ a dozen times.

Re: N810 slider problem

The N95 has more or less same issue while the E65 does not.
The E65 slider is by far the most firm one.

Re: N810 slider problem

so from what i got, sending it back or *****ing about it wont get me anywhere as i might end up with a device of similar or even worse build quality?

exactly.. I don't even think they'll change it.
But I am curious about how other experience this with their N810s.

Mine appears to be perfectly firm.

my n810 is the same way. it was tight for the first week or so then i started feeling the slack. the right side slider has more play than the left..

also the keyboard / screen lock doesn't spring back like it did when it was new. it almost gets stuck in the left to left center position then barely moves back to the right / normal position.

Mine seems pretty good. I've only had it a little while though, so maybe it will get looser with time.

I've had mine for a week and it has the same issue, also with the right side being looser than the left. However, it doesn't bother me one bit. So long has the screen stayhs up, I'm set.

Re: N810 slider problem

I noticed the play when I first got it, and it bugged me. Now two weeks later after using it a lot (particularly using voip), I had forgotten all about the lilttle bit of play until this thread!

I had to double check on the n810, and yup it still has the play, but like Traveller, I got used to it so much that I don't notice it and had forgotten about it.
