Igo Stowaway - No Devices Found
I've been trying to get a new Igo Stowaway slimline BT keyboard running for a day now and need some help.
First, please understand that I've seached the forums and I see a lot of pairing problems, but not the problem I'm having. I used Ctrl + Fn left + Fn right and I've got the keyboard blinking and I've selected "generic keyboard and English - USA", my N800 does a search and says "no devices found" My N800 has the latest release of OS2008. I've followed posts that say to select "visible" in the bluetooth menu. I used Ctrl + Fn left + Fn right and I have a blinking green light at 1hz and my notebook computer sees a "Think Outside" device. I've tried downgrading the OS to OS2007 and OS2008 beta like some post suggest, no luck. I've used gainroot and looked for this device in the bluetooth folder only to find the mac for the N800. I've removed the batteries and rebooted countless times. I've search the web, again only to find lots of posts about problems pairing - not problems of detection. ANY help with this would be appreciated. Thanks. Tom |
Re: Igo Stowaway - No Devices Found

Re: Igo Stowaway - No Devices Found
I got my iGo yesterday, followed these instructions, and they worked perfectly. (I'm using OS2008 on n800.)
Once you get yours paired, see if you're having this problem. If yes, then please vote. |
Re: Igo Stowaway - No Devices Found
This is killing me, everyone seems to have no problems detecting the keyboard, maybe it's defective?

Re: Igo Stowaway - No Devices Found
Try pairing it with a laptop/pc/phone if it works, then it's just a pairing problem...

Re: Igo Stowaway - No Devices Found
Superstar, I just paired it with my LG envy cell phone so it looks like the keyboard is fine. The Nokia N800 just doesn't see it! I don't get it, the N800 reports "No devices found"

Re: Igo Stowaway - No Devices Found
Did you try lm2's link?

Re: Igo Stowaway - No Devices Found
Yes, I did. I get tripped up in step 10, the N800 never sees the keyboard.

Re: Igo Stowaway - No Devices Found
Are you sure you're following the instructions I linked to exactly? NOTE: The instructions DO NOT tell you hit hit the "pair" button in the "Bluetooth keyboard" control panel. Just select "Generic 105-key PC" and then close that control panel. Then open up the "Bluetooth" control panel (under "Connectivity"). Make sure Bluetooth is on and visible; then hit the "Devices button", then hit "new", and then turn press the ctrl+fn+fn.
Sorry if this is indeed how you're going about it. I just know that it was confusing to be told NOT to hit "pair" under "bluetooth keyboard." |
Re: Igo Stowaway - No Devices Found
On Step 5, is it checked as visible? Have you tried rebooting it? gah.. I hate treating the N800 like a winblows pc... Can you pair it with your phone?

Re: Igo Stowaway - No Devices Found
Bummer, I got excited for a moment, I followed your directions to the T, and I get "No Devices Found"
I've paired the N800 with my LG Envy cell phone for DUN. I've paired this keyboard with my LG Envy and used it to add a contact. So... I just don't get it. Tom |
Re: Igo Stowaway - No Devices Found
Sorry Tom. Maybe a re-flash is in order. Don't worry, I'm contemplating doing the same because of this problem.
In solidarity!, lm2 |
Re: Igo Stowaway - No Devices Found
I wish it were that simple, I've reflashed several times with previous OS versions.

Really am sorry Tom.

Re: Igo Stowaway - No Devices Found
I just connected with the following steps:
1. Select Bluetooth from the Connectivity section of Control panel (NOT Bluetooth keyboard under General) 2. Check Bluetooth On and Press the Devices button 3. Press the New button 4. Press Ctrl + left Fn + right Fn buttons for 3 seconds (see green light flashing) 5. Wait for device to be "found" in Select a device window. Select it and press OK 6. remember 4 digit code and press OK 7. Hold down green Fn button on keyboard and type in the 4 digit code 8. let go of Green Fn button and press Enter key that worked for me |
Re: Igo Stowaway - No Devices Found
Did all that over and over, green light flashes on the keyboard, N800 reports "No Devices Found".
