Re: get gngeo to work
kingka i looked at the thread.. .i found the bios zip file i unzipped it i put it in media/mmc1/roms/neogeo/bios and i typed up media/mmc1/roms/neogeo/bios but it still has the red dot and NO BIOS where it says bios files location any help?
|
Re: get gngeo to work
p.s. the negeo zip file when unzipped should have 4 files neo-geo.rom, ng-lo.rom, ng-sfix.rom, ng-sm1.rom right??

Re: get gngeo to work
the latest version of xgngeo, I thought fix the problem with having to chmod from the command line.
it doesn't. so you need xterminal, and you have to run the commands. apt-get install nano = maybe needed if you are a total newb. start XTerminal sudo gainroot mkdir /home/user/.xgngeo nano /home/user/.xgngeo/xgngeo.conf control+o control+x chown user:users /home/user/.xgngeo chown user:users /home/user/.xgngeo/xgngeo.conf if you follow those steps, you should have it running in no time Quote:

|
Re: get gngeo to work

|
Re: get gngeo to work

|

Re: get gngeo to work
also if i do this gngeo wakuwak7 --sound --biospath=/media/mmc1/play/neogeo/ do i put the name of the game without the jue[!].zip or with it?
|
Re: get gngeo to work
Sonic the Hedgehog - Pocket Adventure (JUE) [!].zip is the file name
|
Re: get gngeo to work
gngeo --sound --rompath=/media/mmc2/gngeo/roms --biospath=/media/mmc2/gngeo/bios <-- is this the command i need? if it is where do i put the name of the rom?
|
Re: get gngeo to work
can i not launch it from xmaeme... it just pretends i didnt click execute.. idk if the roms incompatible or the bios location is messed up and xgngeo wont even let me get past important pathway... command line gives me uknown romsets....
|
Re: get gngeo to work
lol, thats a neo geo pocket game.
it won't work with neo geo the system but only neo geo handheld. Quote:

Re: get gngeo to work
gngeo --sound --rompath=/media/mmc2/gngeo/roms --biospath=/media/mmc2/gngeo/bios Game.zip
should work. now if the game name has spaces... for instance like Sonic the Hedgehog - Pocket Adventure (JUE) [!].zip add the game name inside "Sonic the Hedgehog - Pocket Adventure (JUE) [!].zip" QUOTES..... if you read instructions really well the emu should work. google would solve all your problems. stop with i'm a newb and just do some research. I have 2 tutorials on this, that work really well, and the other thread on this people use really well. and yes you are the first case, kinga also had issues for a while but after a while figured it out. follow the tutorials. |
Re: get gngeo to work
ive tried really ive been doing research... but like ur videos glimpse over the biospath and the code i cant read of the video..
|
Re: get gngeo to work
it doesn't matter where you place the bios or anything.
Thats the beauty of xgngeo, it allows for choice. What i think is happening. is that when you configure it, it is not saving. because you are not doing the required chmod steps. |
Re: get gngeo to work
unkown or unsupported romset... it gives me... and on the forum u said pm u for the website for the roms.. i did.. and gosh darn... but when i take the game out and just put everything else it gives me a bunch of control options...
|
Re: get gngeo to work
o ok ill try that again but when i do that it starts giving me error or something h/o let me try it again
|
Re: get gngeo to work
where do i type apt-getinstall nano before or after the sudo gainroot?
|
Re: get gngeo to work

unique311,
Nice app bro. Need a little help though. I've got everything in place but am stuck. Below is a screenshot of where I'm at. I installed XGngeo and all components but I'm stuck on last part of this menu on n800 with os2008. I installed your apps and gngeo v.7 , xgngeo v.16-2 and the current bios. Am I missing any library's or dependencies?Any tips or tricks or ideas to get me up and running? Thanks, Dan |
Re: get gngeo to work
you have to download gngeo through app manager
|
Re: get gngeo to work
you need to point it to your gngeo installation.
but it should've picked it up. but gngeo should be located in /usr/bin/ the only dependency is python2.5-runtime Quote:

rohail1234 & unique311,
Thanks guys. I got past the entry screen after pointing to right directory. Now I'm stuck at the rom loading screen below. What am I missing or where should rom drivers be. I thought if I made it past the previous entry screen I should be good to go. I have reviewed these threads and your video several times but still can't figure how to load these rom drivers. Any additional help, tips or advise would be greatly appreciated. All the games look awesome. Thanks, Dan |
